The Consortium Base Request

The Consortium

 

 

The Consortium is requesting this base as an RP hub, hence the pub, store and hospital. It will, for the most part, be open to the public for commerce. While at first, these pictures make the base look huge, in reality it isn't that large. I would have preferred using some smaller houses and such but with the item count, it would not work. I wanted to ensure that there was plenty of aesthetics to fit in better with the lore.

 

The Facility Lore

Construction began in 1986 for a multi-use facility in central Livonia by the Soviet Union. In 1990 when Livonia gained its independence in accordance with the Warsaw Pact the construction was halted with the main buildings close to being completed. As word of the infection spread through Europe, a state of emergency was declared by the Livonian President. The forgotten facility was brought to the attention of the LDF and President, it was ordered that construction resume.

The facility was to be primarily used as a casualty collection point with a full hospital. Given the location of the facility the top brass from the LDF decided it would be a good place to set up a command center as well. The original buildings were finished after just a few weeks. Smaller projects began such as erecting a pub that wounded soldiers could use as a mess hall and for R&R, a small store, and a garage. The hospital went into full use and the office was implemented as a central command center right after construction was finished. Construction slowed nearly to a halt due to the outbreak and Russia’s invasion of the Baltic States. The isolated facility lasted a long time, continually bringing soldiers and civilians in via helicopter and ground evacuation. Tents were eventually erected outside of the hospital to handle the overflow of wounded being brought in due to war casualties and infection. Mass graves were dug out back of the hospital as those that were brought in and determined to be infected were executed to prevent the spread of the illness. The fall of the facility came about when the infection eventually ran out of control inside the walls with most of the security forces turning and running rampant through the facility. 

Sitting abandoned for so long, this facility was the perfect place for a local group to set up. The location of the facility was given to the heads of The Consortium by a member of NATO who had found it with his squad after a helicopter crash nearby. The NATO squad held up in the old facility for a few weeks before succumbing to injury and infection. The word was passed on about the location after he joined up with The Consortium as a soldier. We went to the location about six weeks ago with some people who were familiar with construction to see what could be done. Our members have been working nearly around the clock to get the facility back in working order, finishing up any construction projects that were not done and adding some makeshift walls. We are looking forward to it being completed so our doctors and medics have a place to help people, we have the pub and store to bring commerce back to Livonia. Hopefully we can live up to what our expectations.

This base's item count is 100.

 

 

The location of this base will be disclosed in-game if it is approved. I will, of course, let staff know the location ahead of time should they ask.

Really enjoy the lore and how well you tie your group into this; It isn't too big nor does it look out of place. The way you've placed the small ambient objects sets a standard for Prefabs to come; It's not something I'd have thought of when constructing the Potius Cras prefab; details like the quarantaine tent infront of the hospital.

I'll look into it, thanks! It would probably make more sense lore-wise as well. I hadn't thought about it when I was putting it together. I just wanted a building big enough for at least 10 people to live in.

very nice work on the lore and the general concept of the base. I really like the yellow tent arrangement in front of the hospital & the corpses outside! ✌️things I'd like you guys to take a look at one more time:

First: ebff21035a.png

Sorry but with the wall mostly going around the area this is a no go for me. Might have something to do with the count of items regarding the walls but it simply looks unrealistic this way.

Second: This little church thing. Keep in mind this is my personal opinion. I think it does not fit within the compound next to all the other things. Is it meant to be a little space for the ones grieving their losses? Imagine going there while someone takes a shit next to you in one of the toilets. My suggestion is to move it outside of the compound , more towards the dead corpses.

Other than that , I think the base looks pretty nice.
I wont speak about approval since I will lose my council status today, still I wanted to leave you feedback.

I’m not going to approve this base request. The buildings are not placed that well, in some cases they are clipping through. Some of the buildings look randomly placed. And simply does not look great next to each other. I’d recommend restructuring the compound. Making sure nothing is clipping through. And try to portray the whole livonia feel. Once these issues have been resolved you will have my approval

So I have a better idea, you are saying to move the pub inward some and place a wall there, so that the fence is more realistic, yes?

When you put it like that, yes, the chapel probably needs to be moved .....

I'm not sure what you are looking at that is clipping. What buildings should be moved? How should it be restructured? This feedback is welcomed, but I need more context other than generalized statements so that I can fix it. Feel free to PM me or hop in Discord.

Interesting settlement idea!

I must admit that I don't follow the opinion of some of the others. Everything looks placed nice and in a realistic way. Though the buildings seem to be quite big to have been constructed by a group of people after the outbreak. Luckily you explain it in the lore, that it has been an abandoned building since the soviet era. 

Still, I think the place is quite big for your group. If I were you, I would prefer something smaller and compact for the amount of members you have. This is something you as a group leader must decide. For the current idea you atleast have my approval.

Even with the modifications this still just looks way over the top too me, especially taking in your group size. 

 

It definitely has gotten better on the realistic side of things but still some things look out of place too me.

I really like the look of the base, you've done well. But, I do have to agree with @Gregor based off of your group's size. With that there is a lack of activity from your members, most notably @Tanto, @Tiger-chan, @Drmani, and @Yarz.

I would prefer to see more activity from you members before I'd give this one an approval, other than that I see no problems.

My suggestion would be to either improve group activity or to downsize the base to fit your active members.

Why does the size of the group matter with how an old deserted military base  was reoccupied?

Based off Roland's group settlement requirements... it matters regardless of what the IC lore for the base is. Group must have 10 active players, and with only 6 active it should be downsized. A great example of a smaller group settlement is the Redwood Radio base.

Unfortunately sometimes life pops up and people can't get on for a time. No one in the group has surpassed the 14 day mark yet and all have told me they plan on returning as soon as they are able. The size of this prefab is largely due to the 10-ish people from my wife's group who will be living there with us as civilians to run the businesses and hospital.

like details like the quarantine tent in front of the hospital. and the church for people who lost family members ect. Seeing as you have over 10+ active members and that Lore makes sense and this place will help you complete more goals im going to approve this Settlement.

I personally don't like the round wall around the back too much. The buildings chosen suggest a more open design (nobody walls off a hospital and a fire station with tall walls and a barbed wire). The watchtowers don't fit in either with the theme of the buildings. You gotta decide whether you're going civilian (hospital, fire station, warehouse) or military (tall walls, watch towers, military helicopter wreck).

I would ideally like to see this redesigned. Also like others mentioned it's a lot of different buildings for a relatively small group.
