[Livonia Lore Mini Event Series] Loving Memories [COMPLETED]

PART 1:

Have you heard the rumors?

The errant whispering in between the flickers of flame of a shared campfire, only spoken of in shushed conversations amidst darting eyes ever scanning their surroundings in fear of who else might be listening. 

You have, haven’t you? 

There is talk, talk of misdeeds gone awry, of someone taking too much pride in their deceitful hobby. What was once thought of as nothing more than an accident, a single off encounter gone wrong, or even perhaps a revenge spun out of control now has spread like wildfire to all those who dare lay witness to it’s depravity. The hushed voices all speak of the same sights; twisted assortments of bodies, morphed into misshapen scenes of torment. Each one carved out, a number in place of a name.

What had they done to deserve this?

The cold chill you feel when walking alone at night, worried that there is someone else out in the dark folds of the evening carefully and patiently observing your every movement isn’t a unfounded concern. They had all probably felt the same thing, that creeping sensation gnawing at the back of their minds.

What if you’re next?

The tales are not tied to fiction, there are far too many eyes who have seen similar sights to have woven the same sordid fantasy. The work of a monster, some call it. A warped individual seeking to strike out their presence, to be seen and to be realized. But for what purpose, there is only speculation. 

Do you walk the roads of Grabin, and Tarnow believing yourself to be immune to the dangers that may linger hidden under the seemingly innocent sight of another derelict town?

For when the Fox hears the Rabbit scream he comes running, 

but not to help.

PART 2:

The wayward warnings have now become more than just rumors circulating the land. No longer does the danger simply lurk in the shadows and corners of the mind where they were kept at a safe distance, far from reach.

Now the time to act had come, and act he shall indeed do. 

Perhaps you have heard of the wiry static filled conversations issued over the breaking radio waves.

The shuddering voices of those growing unsteady still with worry as the fear mounts ever still.

He’s making his mark.

Focused eyes steadily watching from behind a pale mask.

Leaving an open invitation to any who deem themselves worthy of his attention, to be worthy of his art.

The frequency and brazenness of a dangerous predator who stalks the land free from retaliation now finds joy in the simple game of fox and rabbit.

 Duck and hound.

Cat and mouse.

A catch and a release.

For the thrill of the hunt is much more tantalizing than the satisfaction of the kill.

One for a heart
Two for a show
Three for an enemy, ready to go

Four for the pious 
Five for the traitor
Six for filth, stuffed away later

Seven for disgust
Eight for the fear
Nine for pride, reaching ear to ear

Ten for the ignorance
Eleven for desire
Twelve for lust, that couldn’t reach higher

Thirteen for the need
Fourteen for the voice
Fifteen for the illusion of possible choice

Sixteen for control
Seventeen for restraint
Eighteen for dominance, without any complaint

Nineteen for the miss
Twenty for the woe
Twenty-one all wrapped up in a nice little bow
One for a heart
And two for the show
Three for an enemy who was ready to go.

Thank you to all the groups who participated in this event! (Forgive my rhyming I am no poet nor rapper...)

But yes, the Killer is caught and dealt with! Find out IC who did the did and what other mysteries may have surrounded him.

We had a great time dynamically updating and changing our plans based on the input from the community as we progressed forward! There were a lot of paths we have planned out but you guys, the community, are always keeping us on our toes.  

We hope those involved got some enjoyment out of it and had fun. These more personal encounters we feel affect players more, and in their efforts we try and bring people together on a larger scale. 

We will update the bodies so they still exist IG as well as place the graves for those who opted to bury some. A nice little reminder of this lore event. In the future the markers will likely be removed though as not to bog down the server. 

For those who did not get to participate in the event, fear not we have another one starting to pick up and which will take forefront moving forward, some of you may already have had some encounters.  

As always, anyone who wants to volunteer let us know and we hope to see ya in the next one!

(Be aware we may release some docs about this event to interested/involved parties. So keep a eye out for that!)

OOC: This is a mini event series we're doing that is closely tied to personal encounters. Each encounter is random and based on who is on the server at the time, so you actually have to be IG in order to participate. There is no set timeframe regarding this, besides building up a lore event that hopefully allows players to have a personal developed stoyline that brings them into contact with others. 
This is a very dynamic mini event lore series, subject to change and a lot of the specifics are meant to be vague so players can find out info all ICly. 
Think, who dun it murder mystery sorta deal.
This event and  others like it are to provide more personal experiences tailored to individual players to help them progress their chars. and their own goals. Also; this is not the only event we're doing or will be doing. This is just one which has been progressing recently so we decided to make a post about it. 
We strongly encourage players to work together in these trying times, and remember stay safe out there!

But in seriousness im liking this little narrative a lot so far. Especially tailoring some clue's to specifically appeal to my characters background. The intrigue it adds is great to RP around.

On a side note, if anyone is wanting to get involved with this but feels its out of their depth, its really not. Just find a little IC reason to get your character involved and see where the adventure goes.

Personally glad that these type of events are happening instead of the server wide ones. Always believed that events should shape the way people approach the game and the easiest way of doing so is by taking part in peoples sotrylines.

I doubt I'll personally get to experience it, but this will make me wanna stay IG a bit more as there always will be that maybe on the back of my mind. So objective achieved I guess.

I've experienced, what I consider, only a tiny part of this small event - yet it's had one of the most lasting effects on my character.

Good job to the lore team for doing these small events that mean so much, keep it up ya'll.

The questions, remarks and stuff in the middle really add weight and feeling to the whole writing. I love it.

I can almost imagine it being done in a short film or trailer, where someone's running in a misty forest. The sounds of branches crackling, footsteps following the "rabbit" who is lost and scrambling for safety. Narrator explaining the story, those little remarks in the middle spoken hushed, otherworldly in a female voice:  "You have haven't you?"  "He's making his mark"~

But my imagination running wild aside!  I've loved the lore event so far, it's been very open and inviting to all. It's a thing that lives it's own life and has the possibilities to do so, thanks to how it's handled. Looking forward to more

Well!

The "Storylines" are stuff to make it more interesting from a personal perspective which people can engage in as they see fit. If you don't want to get involved, you're not required to and it's not something that's drastically affecting the world overall (which we are also expanding on, do not worry) but more so on a personal level which spreads out to other people and groups.

We use Tools to make these RP encounters happen for players randomly (who are IG actively) and then allow players to progress said things! And this one isn't the only "storyline" we have planned just one of them! Nor is it the only one active, it's just the most widely known one atm. :3 As the storyline progresses we place the updates of widely known stuff here which you can take ICly, or not! You can also learn stuff from other players in Radio Broadcasts in the Forums!

Let me know if you have any specific questions, or you wanna DM me or the other LMs about this specific event or in general. Or if you want to pose any ideas or stuff our ears are always free.

Not sure If I'm late or not, but I've just brushed through this and honestly this is the most unique thing I've ever seen. Glad to see that the MOD Tools are being used like this honestly. Looks ace, keep it up. A question though:

Can you give an example of one of the encounters? Is it like something along the lines of you look at someones character goals and then make something from there? Like for example a medic needs supplies and there are supplies found but it's covered with infected? Because that's really fucking dope. 

I might be mistaken but from what I'm understanding, it's ace... I need an example to fully understand though!
