MVP Mademoiselle Posted February 1, 2020 MVP Share Posted February 1, 2020 So I have a curious question. If I EMOTED taking blood out of someone would it be considered power gaming? If I take blood out of a character model, is it power gaming? The reason I ask this is blood regenerates in game and the person can also be given saline. However would I have to ask for permission (both one and two). Link to comment

Quote 3.7 You are not allowed to force an action, condition or belief through role play upon another players character unless the action is specifically consented to by the other player using OOC text. This is called power gaming. Certain extreme role play like rape is not allowed at all and is considered power gaming regardless of consent. 2.) In-Game mechanics are typically not as closely ruled by the powergaming rule. The biggest one that comes to mind is forcing someone to eat human meat, which can force the condition of Kuru on them and make them laugh, as well as forcing them to be a cannibal. This is obviously a mechanic that you can do in game, but requires OOC permission. If you have to come ask here whether its okay or not, you take that as a sign you should be asking permission OOC or at the very least IC. You shouldn't be focusing on whether the rules allow it or not, instead on whether or not your specific RP-partner is okay with it. There are situations where drawing blood from someone without OOC permission will be fine, and I can 100% think of other situations where drawing blood from someone would be... Well, probably BadRP, more then Powergaming, but definitely not something to encourage. Its much the same reason that you don't see people running around shoving food in others mouths without permission; its just a weird thing to do. When in doubt, err on the side of safety and ask permission. I can't answer this with a firm yes / no simply because the context of the situation would determine the answer. The above would be my stance on it, as I can't recall many instances of powergaming being applied, outside of OBVIOUS ones, or the Kuru thing. 3 Link to comment
