Killing Compliant Hostages

Detailed description of the events: 

The Trade Union dynamic were rolling with @Daddy19RP and his crew.@Daddy19RP had initiated on one of the opposing party members when none of her dynamic allies were in her line of sight as far as we know. The Trade Union dynamic were bystanders in this situation so that is irrelevant in the case I will outlay below however it is a basis to the events that followed:

We were travelling together in a truck, when we approached a roadblock, @KordrugaRP was driving. Once we had to maneuver around the first barricade, the opposing party had appeared from the bushes and screamed something before opening fire on the entire truck killing the majority of the duck like sitting passengers while I watched a slideshow called DayZ. For some reason, my body was glitched inside the truck and I had no head and could not exit. I was speaking to them to ensure them I was alive & can not move. I was told to relog and I did so. When I rejoined, I noticed @OxeN was alive too. I made it known I was not able to exit and will drop my gun immediately. I did so and exited the truck. I was frisked for a radio and I dropped it.

I was moved over to where @OxeN was being held at the other side of the truck. We both put our hands up. Someone in the truck had appeared and shot one of the opposing party and was killed. It took myself and @OxeN a moment to realise what actually just happened. The opposing party started screaming at @OxeN & I saying that we were 'sitting right next to him' 'you knew he was there'.  I don't really understand what he meant by this as we were no where near the shooter. We started to tell them to relax we had nothing to do with that. We saw a man point his gun at us from the truck so we got on our knee's with our hands behind our head to show them we are completely compliant. Then we heard from behind us, 'Open fire.' Mid explanation we were both shot dead.

  • @OxeN & I were completely and entirely compliant.
  • The man who shot and killed one of them was not apart of our Trade Union dynamic & was completely out of our control. 
  • There were no negotiations nor were we told 'If we take shots, you will be killed' nor was this a hostage rescue.
  • Approved groups must have allies listed as such on their group thread in order for said 'allies' to be held accountable for playing a part in a death committed by the approved group.

I have not been a hostage in I don't know how long, I was actually looking forward to seeing the shoe on the other foot for once, when that chance was riddled with bullets for no valid reason and felt simply as a cop out to end the roleplay and move along.

POV: We pulled up on a group of people on the coast, they begin running away. We chase for a while and end up catching one of them in a field. the rest, in typical fashion, disappear into  the trees. We send a few that way to check and find no one. I wait for a little bit, around five minutes or so, then initiate on the female and take her away. I warn her at least three times that if she hides a radio or gun that she would die. We get to the house and she has a radio, so I kill her. We run off to prison island, find nothing, get in our car and drive north, get ambushed at Pav mil and die. 

I'd like to note that as of recent reports and statements regarding dynamic rights, you must be present in the situation in order to gain rights. The others in Kamenici had run off full speed and a decent distance away. Meaning that they did NOT have defensive dynamic rights. On top of this, a large portion of the people in truck had not previously initiated. Meaning that they were RDM'd.

If position logs are pulled it will show that they were far away by the time we initiated, after snagging the women we RP'd for around five minutes before initiating, and we searched the immediate area. They were not close enough to see it, and were definitely NOT PRESENT for the initiation in anyway. 

I would formally like to also report them for RDM x7, and of course the two invalid executions on Oxen and Shepherd. 

To add on to the execution, Rolle says "The hostage who was killed is classed as not affiliated because he is not a member of the attacker approved group, nor an approved group that is marked as an ally of that group". The Trade Union are not marked as our ally, and they were only with us through randomly finding them on a road. 

Last time I was involved in one of these reports with the suspects, they linked a report that got me put on final over a year ago. I assume that it will be linked again, so I will take this opportunity to defend myself. This situation is nothing similar. My official group initiates on the female, the rest of her dynamic group have been long gone, out of LOS and nowhere present for the initiation. The female then fails to comply with my orders and is executed. The two situations are completely different and I hope that it is not aimlessly thrown once again at me. 

I'd like to point out the clever use of words regarding their POV's. They say things such as "shortly after" when referring to when we initiated on Pips, but this is blatantly false. I role-played with her for at least five or so minutes before ever initiating, and if we get the full position logs pulled for this team, from myself, pips and the rest of the suspects then we can prove just how far they had run.

Just from what we have now, we see that Mexi was located at the red circle (pictured below), and even with a generous estimate on the hostage location (could be wrong, need more pos logs still), then he was around 2.3 km away from the initiation site three minutes after the hostage being executed. Keep in mind there was about 3 or 4 minutes between initiation and execution, but even accounting for that there is no way that Mexi and Co. were anywhere close enough to see or be involved in the roleplay leading to the initiation. Even with dex you cannot move that fast or that far. 

They have yet to say whether or not they were close or present because they know they were not, and the use of vocabulary such as "soon after" or "shortly after" when regarding the initiation is blatantly false as roleplay was given to Pips for several minutes before an initiation. 

"You need to be present when the initiation is dropped, or you yourself personally need to be initiated on to gain defender rights." Although verdicts do not cause precedent, it shows the interpretation of the rules and how they are being enforced.

On top of this, to add on to what @Queerios said, the behavior from @groovy pips was NVFL and baiting. When I offered to resolve this by having her walk to the truck for a conversation she would respond with statements like "or what" and "what are you going to do about it" and "I dont think I am going to". Even though she was HEAVILY outnumbered by just my group, not to mention the bystanders watching idly by. She showed no value for her own life and displayed clear paths of baiting. With that I would also like to bring about this accusation of baiting and NVFL formally, if I must make a separate report let me know staff.

This is the logs plotted out at 23:57, roughly as we initiated on Pips. Keep in mind this could even be before we initiated, as when we initiated on Pips we began moving her south of this position. Meaning at the absolute best, with perfect timing, that this was the closest they could possibly be to the situation. The closest groovy member was well over a KM away and the rest of the gang was almost 2KM at 1800 M. Above us is Chase, who chased them even further, the men were full sprint running away and were NOT INVOLVED in the situation at all. They abandoned their dynamic member, completely lost LOS and were 2KM away before we even initiated.

POV: We finish up with a hostage in Komarovo and suddenly a truck full of people appear on the road from the Balota side of town, we begin to split and leave whereas Pips gets caught up in a conversation with G19 and those who were there, she still had her radio on her and something along the lines of 'Okay my hands are going up' had been stated. No radios were taken from her so information continued to flow in. Prior to Pips being taken EVERY SINGLE PERSON got out of that truck, and chased those who were running off before returning to the situation with @groovy pips 

The rule states:
'you are allowed to defend yourself by gaining DEFENDER RIGHTS on the attackers. Defender rights allow you to kill attackers for 2 hours or until your character dies. Defender rights can be shared with anyone who you recently role played with as well as all your group members, if you are a part of an approved group.'

We regroup elsewhere in separate parties and relocate to areas in which we think the OP and his battle bus might move to, I'm move to a location watching the main road of Pavlovo and the others set up at one of the two checkpoints outside of the military base, the collective roll up in the truck and are shot and killed. After all those involved bar the two that complied had been killed, someone within the truck suddenly popped back into the server and instantly shot and killed @Ducky to which he was then dropped.

As stated word for word in the rules, 4.6 bullet point 4:
Approved group of the hostage or their allies refuse to negotiate or open fire on hostage takers.

While Rolle stated on a thread on the 14th of October as returning players to the community as of the 20th-21st of November that scanned the rules to look for changes (Which none had been, minus other rules being reworded) this was not one of them. As the GM's will see from position logs everyone involved in both situations had been running with each other for a good amount of time, you cannot pick and choose when your friends are and are not based on giving you the upper hand in situations such as these.

The person shooting made zero attempt to negotiate as they plopped back into the server, thus throwing the two hostages under the bus and it turning into them being killed.

This isn't the first time this sort of situation has been played out, where groups rolled together but only one set initiated to circumvent the hostile act rules, if we're bringing forward situations and replies from the past I present a verdict that included G19 also from Rolle where the attempt of rule armour was used and denied.

While I understand prior reports don't set precedence for current or future reports, the situation is near enough exactly the same as the above screenshot.

- A truck filled with 3 groups roll around together.
- All of them jump out and chase the specific group away, while catching one.
- ONE of the group(s) involved initiate on Pips, thus giving us rights.
- She is killed after supposedly not dropping her radio (Without giving a chance to explain, was just gunned down).
- All those involved move off back to their truck and continue their blatant, allied dynamic.
- Defender rights are used, all but 2-3 are killed 2 of which are hostages.
- Ally logs back in, shoots one of our people and thus the hostages are killed after shots are taken and one of our people had fallen.

Prior verdicts don't set precedence for every situation as they are taken case by case, I fail to see how we are at fault for something when we followed the rules.

If you'd like to attempt talking this out again in Discord, then by all means shoot us a PM. From how the conversation went, with agreements from both sides that the fault lays with the rules, I was shocked to see a DM regarding a report going up. Nonetheless, the offer stands.

I never fired a shot so my location doesn't really matter, I swooped in and grabbed some stuff I wanted/ needed at the end because as you showed, I was a good distance away from where the final shots were exchanged. I've already stated what the RULE. I and everyone else that has been called in, minus Tander had recently roleplayed with Pips, as required within the rule to gain defensive rights thus giving us two hours to use them on ALL OF THOSE INVOLVED. You stated already that Kordruga was driving.. The truck gave chase enabling you to catch up with Pips, thus making him involved. The Union aided you in the chasing off of the rest of us, as well as being present for both the initiation AND then returning to the truck with everyone else, thus also making them involved in the entire situation. I'm really not sure how black and white I have to be able this for it to be understood by each of you, you were all involved and partook in either the initiation or escorting of Pips to the place of her death, you all willingly strolled around together, I'd even bet on the words 'Friends' being involved a number of times when it comes to talking amongst yourselves. 

I'll paste it again seeing as it's clearly been ignored 'Defender rights can be shared with anyone who you recently role played with'.

The rule hasn't changed since we last played and as much as it might pain everyone to believe, I didn't read the Appeals/ Report section nor did I regularly visit the DayZRP forum on my break, nor did anyone else. So these supposed 'changes' to the rules which clearly haven't been changed as per the current rules, aren't set as precedence.  

As for the deaths of OxeN and Ryan, you were present for the initiation on Pips, you assisted in moving her safely back to the town, you got back into the trucks with the people that had captured one of our own after as mentioned, assisting them. You were indeed complying hostages, but HeX unfortunately attempted to save you after breaking a rule himself, putting both of your lives at risk and failed. You both paid the price for your allies attempt. If he had any intention for RP to continue, he would of made mention that he relogged and upon logging back in he would have also raised his hands, instead he chose to Combat log, NVFL AND get you two shot in the process.

As for Pips showing NVFL/ baiting, prior to the initiation you were alone with her from my understanding. She is allowed to deny returning to a truck when one unarmed person requests, questioning 'Or What' until the rest of your men showed apparent force. The threat of potential rape taking place also, would make any sound minded person hesitant to return anywhere with the people involved which as she stated prompted her to say something similar to ‘I think I’d like to leave bec..' which I'm sure entailed then shouting so her response may have been cut off. Denying strong arming attempts is neither baiting, nor is it NVFL.

From my understanding Chase disconnected in the truck, for 30 minutes when the server wasn't full (as shown in the disconnect/ connection logs of Hex getting back in right after his disconnection). I'd have that looked into for Combat logging, seeing as not only did he disappear for 30 minutes he also disconnected again 15 minutes after he rejoined the server, thus not waiting his timer.

Bands also walked up around the time in which I arrived from memory, so he didn't witness the execution. He did however witness me telling him to turn around and 'fuck off south' before coming back and mouthing off unarmed. We ignored it and went about our business as quick as we could so we could go to the Helpdesk for a discussion.

I'll be editing this comment further should more information be required in an attempt to keep the thread nice and tidy.

Taya Benes POV:

Our group just finished some role play with a hostage we took in Komarovo. As we were about to leave town, a Truck full of people drives past us from the direction of Balota and comes to a stop. The group gets out and starts running towards us. Knowing we are outnumbered, we continue to head out of town, into the treeline. The whole group sitting in the truck previously keeps chasing us all the way up in the woods apart from the driver, who was chasing after us in the truck.

The truck eventually catches up to me, the driver gets out and some more people arrive from the chase and start talking to me, telling me to go back to the truck so we could chat. Because of them throwing around insults and being hostile, I told them I would not want to go with them multiple times, hoping they would let me go. Eventually G19 says something along the lines of "Alright, I'll take the bait" and initiates on me while I am being surrounded by the group. I am doublemicing on the radio that my hands are going up to let my group know I've been initiated on, which gives them defender rights.

They tell me to drop my backpack and my gun, which I do, and to follow the truck which is headed back to Komarovo. During me being a hostage, I counted 7 of them jogging with me and one person driving the truck. While we are jogging down the hill, he says something like "I hope they take a shot at us so we can have a nice little fire fight." 
As we get closer to the town, he mentions that I better dropped my radio before as he told me to. All I could recall at that time was him telling me to drop my backpack and gun before we made our way down the hill, so I told him that that is the only thing he said. He mentions that he told me to drop my radio as well and that if I still have it on me when they search me, I will die. (He also mentions that I didn't hear it because I asked them something, which at the time of him saying that had me confused because I didn't remember asking anything when dropping my backpack and gun.) So he asks if I have it on me and I go to say "Yes, but-.." and get shot before I could even finish the sentence or am being searched for anything. 

After that incident, I find out that @Hofer was watching it all unfold in free-cam and has a recording of that situation. I told Hofer that I didn't hear them telling me to drop my radio on the hill. Turns out they didn't. Hofer then tells me they told me to drop my radio once shortly before we reached the house I was killed at, but never made me actually stop and drop it so it must have gone over my head. That is when I ask them for a drink, so I assume that is what G19 meant when he said I didn't hear it. 
Seeing as I was compliant the entire rest of the incident and didn't pose any threat to them, I don't think it was necessary to kill me that fast. I had no time to explain myself nor did they actually bother to search me for a radio. 
 

Since I died right there, I wasn't present for the incident OP is reporting. Just here to give an insight on what was leading up to the situation.

Edit: Adding to the accusations of me "baiting" or "not valuing my life": 

4.7 You are not allowed to bait other players. Baiting is the act of provoking, insulting or acting in an offensive manner unsuitable to the roleplay situation at hand, with the aim of getting the other party to initiate on you.

At any point in that situation the group could have walked away from me or let me go. 

I said "Or what?" once while G19 was next to me ranting and shouting, he had no gun out (but I did) and we were alone when I was asked to accompany him to the truck. Shortly after the rest of the group roll up beside us and G19 continues to speak about me being with the Chernarussians etc.
Insinuations of rape then come forward and by this point I felt like I’d like to leave the situation so ICly I said something along the lines of "I think I’d like to leave bec.." then I got cut off with shouting and laughter before ICly being told that I was "baiting". An initiation was then dropped and I complied due to being heavily outnumbered.

I don't see how that would be baiting or NVFL when all I did was trying to roleplay out the situation and get away from those people, being scared I would get killed/raped if I would go to the truck with them.

Afanasyev Kirillovich POV: We roll up in a big truck in Komarovo and Kamenici runs away. We chase after them and finally catch Pips. @Daddy19RP and I initiate on @groovy pips - on the way down G19 makes very clear that “right now, you need to drop your radio and any other weapons you may have - knives, pistols, any other weapons, or a radio, drop it right now, if we search you and you have any of these things, you will die” I felt he was pretty clear about what she needed to do before we stopped and searched her - meaning to drop these things while we were walking. When we get to the house, she has a radio on her, and she gets killed. We continue on our journey and scope out prison island, before heading up towards pavlovo. Upon moving into the pav military checkpoint - we are ambushed and I die nearly immediately.

Noah Huntington POV:

Myself, @Ryan Shepherd, @Challenger and @OxeN were rolling up to the WP base when we see a truck on the road, low and behold its @Daddy19RP and the boys. They say they're going to Prison Island to check on the Corp and we decide to tag along, having being at the Prison Island base the other day we wanted to see what we could scavenge. 

We pull through Komarovo and see a gang of similarly dressed lads (Kamenici) huddling near a house, we pull up the truck and begin to disembark. Kamenici dips, 2 or 3 of them running off towards the coast and another 3 running up into the tree line. The boys begin to give chase to the three that ran into the treeline whilst myself and @OxeN move off into Komarovo briefly to see if we could find flag down any of the people that ran off towards the coast. With no luck, we head up to the trees and eventually Pips is found and initiated on by some of the group, Note here that I never actually initiated on Pips, nor did I say anything to them for that matter, I was merely just a bystander watching some hard working white supremacists do their work on suspected Kamenici. I hang back whilst shit is going down and eventually run back into town. 

Pips eventually complies with the demands made to them, only doing so after an initiation is dropped by @Daddy19RP and @AidanVC, despite being surrounded by a group of 8 or 9 guys.  They are then moved to a house on the outskirts of Komarovo, during which time orders were expressly given to drop any guns or a radio (iirc as we passed through a treeline Pips was ordered to stop for a second and reminded to remove any guns or radio they might have) which they evidently didn't and consequently took a bullet to the dome. We regroup at the truck and continue to the original objective of Prison Island. We grease ourselves up and swim over to see if anyone was home, but it wasn't to be and we found the base empty so we swim back to shore and decide to head back up north. @KordrugaRP decides to ignore his satnav, aka the rest of the group telling him not to drive through Pavlovo mil as we'll get blasted, and low and behold as I'm leaning back in my chair reading a text, we get blasted. I have enough time to see two people appear from the trees before "You are Dead". As far as I'm aware there was no initiation, as I didn't hear one, the only thing agreed on was someone saying "Dobry den" before we get gassed. 

My complaints about this entire situation are as followed;

1) I feel KOS rights were valued over any roleplay that could have potentially occurred, as evidenced by the strange execution of two complying hostages. You had us at every advantage, we were sitting ducks in the back of that truck and you could have atleast tried to take us hostage, alas no we were all gunned down in our primes. 

2) We were given no opportunity to comply, even if we had have wanted to, as within 5 seconds of appearing from the treeline the opposing group began to open fire. I was dead before Kordruga even had a chance to pull up the truck.

3) @groovy pips - If I'm being frank what you pulled in the field, in my opinion, was borderline baiting or NVFL at the very least. You were asked numerous times by @Daddy19RP to simply walk over to a truck so that the conversation could continue and you refused to do so, despite being surrounded by a group of atleast 8 to 9 guys, all brandishing weaponry. You kept refusing to comply until an initiation was dropped, thus giving your allies rights to KOS.

Jodani Hexov's PoV

We head to the prison island with some of the boys looking for some extra gear as we had poked around it the other day and found an extreme amount of high grade weapons ( like 15 ak's per tent sort of thing ) so we were hoping to grab more today. On the way down we spot what seems like 5 or so people standing around, we drive another 50 meters or so before we actually end up stopping and we hop out. The group instantly books it North, I see a group of two break off on the west and the other three further east. We chase after them because originally we just wanted to talk, but anyone who runs obviously is running for a reason. a few of us catch up to Pip while a handful of us push further into the treeline to search for those missing. We chat with Pip for a period of time, probably 5-10 minutes, though she seems to want to leave and that she has no idea who we are talking about. At this point we point out that we know they are Kamenichi just because of how they dress, with Gorka top and blue jeans being the signature Kamenichi style pioneered by the original Kamenichi boys. We try to get Pip to move away from the open area and come with us, but she wont budge without us initiating it seems despite there being overwhelming numbers against her so we eventually initiate. I raise my weapon on her as well, confident that the rest of her group ( no more then 4 to my knowledge now ) would be halfway to Green Mountain by now with how they were running. 

As we move her South, I go afk to grab pizza because I was a hungry boi and jump in the truck with one of my favorite Irishmen @KordrugaRP so he could chauffeur me about while I stuff my face with pizza. When I return I hear the shots of the hostage being executed for not complying to what was ordered of her to do ( dropping her radio )

We go to prison island, waste like another 30 minutes there before driving North again and get lit up by a whole bunch of fella's while passing the military base. The only thing I herd anyone way was 'Dobry' or something like that. They shoot as we near and we push through, with a number of us getting bugged in the back and unable to exit the vehicle. I attempt to relog quickly, but my game crashes in the process. I try again and I get in only to see one of the dudes standing in front of me looting one of my boys. I shoot him, expecting there only to be maybe 3 more at this point as I've only seen 5 total run from us earlier and Pip being dead and this other guy being dead too, I figured my odds were ok and I had a pretty damn good close quarters weapon being the MP7. I get caught on dead bodies in the back of the truck as I try to move and die.

Hello Game Master @Hofer, nice to see you!

POV: I log in and I'm asked to drive a shit heap of a truck down to prison island to get some things from the server's armoury. As the best driver in South-Zagoria, I agree. We pick up some of the trade union fellas on the way down and make a fun little trip out of it. Before reaching the island we come across some friendly people in the road. These friendly people instantly start running from us and everyone in my truck leaps out after them to have a chat. Me being the sociable but lazy guy that I am, drive solo in my truck up to a nice lady. I hop out and start some small talk. I say things like "Hey why are you running? I'm a friendly guy." The nice lady responds with something along the lines of "Your friends don't seem so nice." Meanwhile all of her friends had bolted into the trees and I didn't get a chance to ask them how their days were. After a little bit of small talk, you know the usual in an apocalypse, the guys that had asked me to taxi them caught up and started to get very angry at the nice lady. I didn't want any involvement as I thought she was pretty nice so I went back to my truck and chilled out for like 5 minutes. I then see them walking down towards the place where we first saw them so I decide to hop back in my truck and do some drifting to pass the time until my clients had finished with their business. Once they had finished their business, they call me over in my truck and instruct me to drive onward to the island. Of course the place is fucking empty so we begin to head back north. As we're passing Pavlovo military base I hear "Dobry den" and all of my clients and my beloved truck are mag dumped by some charlies in the trees. By the time I'm able to stop the truck the enemies had blasted all of my clients and clipped me in the process. Infuriated with the knowledge that I wasn't going to get paid for all of this driving and the AK round that had passed through me, I hop out of my truck and try to hold the flanking attackers before I'm gunned down. 

I'd like to note specifically that I was not involved in any hostilities towards the accused in this report. I didn't raise my weapon to the nice lady nor make any threats. I was literally just there to drive the truck.

Ducky's POV:

We were rolling around in Komarovo and had just finished some excellent roleplay with a Potius member and a random survivor when we decided it was time to head for the hills, as we reach the road we need to cross to head north a Zil truck with what appeared to be 8-10 people on first glance drives past, I audibly hear them gasp as they slam the breaks and begin dismounting, seeing as we were caught by surprise and from the initial count-up, outnumbered and in a generally bad position, we decided it was best to head for the woods where we feel at home, we spread out in the event that they do try to chase us, and it becomes apparent that, that is the their plan. Mere seconds after we cross the road and try to make some distance we look over our shoulders and see multiple of the people who were in the truck chasing out into the field after us, all of us manage to slip away with the exception of  @groovy pips, who was caught by the driver of the truck after a few minutes, we hear her double-mic, after some short conversation from her end it becomes painfully obvious that she was initiated on, and we begin to formulate a plan.

Fast-Forward after some monkey business in the forest (That means running around and regrouping.) we set an ambush west of Pavlovo Mil by the checkpoint, and just when we thought they may have taken another road the truck shows up. Seeing as @groovy pips had been initiated on, and she was part of our dynamic, we had gained defense rights, and so we stepped out of the trees and engaged the truck as it came through. After the initial slaughter and the killing of one person who dismounted we approach the truck and sort out @OxeN and @Ryan Shepherd, @Ryan Shepherd is asked to relog since he is bugged, once he is back in I bandage him up and pat him down for a radio, then tell him to go stand next to @OxeN. I then climb back up into the truck and talk a bit more, at this point in time @Hex logs back in and domes me, only to get gunned down immediately. Considering @Ryan Shepherd let us know he could not exit the truck OOC, and that he was being very honest about it, I felt that this wouldn't become an issue, but given the logs and the situation with the person who domed me, I'd like to think that classifies at Combat Logging, at no point did the person who shot me let us know he was bugged, or relogging, he simply disappeared into thin air, then logged back in right next to me and instantly gassed me. We were OOCly agreeing that since @Ryan Shepherd did have those issues with getting out, we weren't going to further fire, but the whole aspect of @Hex logging out after he has taken fire, without saying anything in OOC like @Ryan Shepherd did, and then immediately gassing as soon as he gets in, with no clue how outnumbered he was, that to me is sketchy and seems like borderline combatlogging as well as NVFL.

His failed rescue attempt is what I believe lead to the death of the two hostages, as there was no attempt to negotiate, just immediate fire as soon as he logged in.

POV: Got in a truck with @Daddy19RP and his gang, they drove everyone down to kamenka where we encountered Kamencici they ran from us and we ran after, we caught up to one of them, a female. She was robbed by @Daddy19RP and later executed. 

After that we swam to prison island and about 1 hour or more go before we take our leave in the truck towards pavlovo. We get initiated on in the road, although most of us did not hear much but "Dobryden" before being filled with bullet holes.

after my screen unfreezes i comply, i get out the truck and drop my guns and radio, i then roleplay with the @Ryan Shepherd and the rest when a man shoots @Ducky in the head and gets killed for it. 

i then get told i was sitting next to him and was collaberating with him when i actually was not as i was sitting in the front of the truck. they then execute us.

POV: We finish up with some roleplay at Komarova, we begin to head north to exfil. A truck full of people speed past us and begin to stop. Myself and @Mexi run north through the fields into the woods whilst being chased by 2-3 of the truck passengers. They ended up catching up with @groovy pips and initiating on her. I end up losing them in the woods and meetup with @Ducky, we decide to proceed towards Bor and meetup with @groovy chernon and @Mexi. After most of us met up at Bor, we move to Pavlovo military to setup on the road to ambush the truck. We waited a while until the blue truck arrived, once the truck had arrived I sprung up from the barrier shouted "Dobry Den motherfuckers." and sprayed the front of the truck down. After the truck had stopped from the bullet storm, myself and @groovy tony push the truck from both sides and I kill the last guy who got out. We took the two people left hostage, we moved them away from the bodies and proceeded to roleplay with them. I was in the woods to the west when someone logged in on the back of the truck and proceed to spray @Ducky down without saying or typing anything. We saw this as an attempted rescue by the opposing party, which led to the deaths of the hostages.

Finally put my little brother to sleep. Here is my POV:
I come back from my afk break just in time to hear that a truck has stopped in the town. I see people jump out the truck and start bolting it for us, so we separate and try to lose them in the trees and swamps. I hear Pips over the radio: ,,Alright, my hands are going up." After that we regroup and go to set up an ambush on the truck. We very nearly miss them at Prison Island and so we decided to cut them off at Pavlovo mil. We manage to arrive before them and set up a trap. When they arrive we spray the truck, upon further inspection we find two people alive and order them to step outside of the vehicle. However a third person logs back into the truck and immediately kills Ducky. We then execute the hostages.

It was a nice winter evening, nearing Christmas time. Some lads and I from the Trade Union were heading towards the Wolfpack Compound, which reminds me of the Tower of London Fortress. Those bloody bastards! We are suddenly met by a truck full of men, turns out they were friends, some of The Time, and co. Anyways, we decided it would be a fantastic to join them on their quest. We were heading down south towards the Azkaban, listening to music, and having banter on our journey. We were going to say hello to our corporation friends.

Suddenly, as we’re about to near the Azkaban, we seen a large group of men resembling Chernaruski Bandits! Screams were heard from the truck in fear, as we thought it was our time. For some reason, these Chernaruski decided to runaway, it baffled most of us. Our driver of the day, big bad Vlad, stomped on the breaks! Most of the occupants of the truck gave chase, and went after the Chernaruskis. One of the Time catches one of these Chernaruskis, and decided to interrogate her, she ultimately refused to move to the truck to continue a nice conversation, so the men from the Time took her. She was warned multiple times by the Time to drop her radio, she didn’t and she was shot. I was taken a back by these Chernaruskis as they left one of their “Bratari’s” behind to get taken.

The Time took what they need from the woman. We moved back to our truck and parked near the lighthouse across from Azkaban. As the day progressed, the weather was awfully foggy, so our Snipers were unable to get any information or provide security. Myself, some boys, and the Time began to swim over to the island, I tell you this now boys, it was bloody freezing. We got to shore of the Island, dried ourselves off and made way to the front gates of Azkaban. We were thinking, we must have really have shocked those Dementor Corporation because they were no where to be seen. We had previously visited Azkaban the other day, they were armed to the teeth, we took most of their stuff, and made way. Anyhow different story, different day.

We swim back across, and we move back to the truck. Big Bad Vlad advised us we needed fuel, so we continued our journey along the coast to find a petrol station. Some of the boys were trading their “Roger Coins”. I didn’t understand it myself, must be some thing that’s kept in-house. With more music, and banter we arrived at the petrol station. Big Bad Vlad filled us up, and we made haste down the coast line. We were feeling like we were Jack Sparrow, after stealing the Interceptor from the rabid Royal Navy, the speed we were going was unbelievable. Suddenly, Ivan Volkov, glourious leader of Trade Union, decided to slam the emergency break. Scaring everyone inside.

After being warned multiple times about going through Pavlovo, Big Bad Vlad refused to listen! With more music, we headed through a checkpoint. Suddenly, large amount of gunfire erupted and our truck was under fire. It felt like the scene out of Ironman, when Tony was taken. Shots everywhere, men dying, boys were falling left, right and centre. I seen Big Bad Vlad, jump out and start to return fire, he killed one and was taken down quickly. I was in the truck, unable to move probably because of the shock. I am executed suddenly and shot in the head without orders.

I wasnt really in the situation until the end when I walked up and saw oxen and shepard get invalidly executed by a bunch of angry russians.

 

My death by mr @KordrugaRP was unrelated to this situation, it had happened down on the coast. I initiated on him and he killed me

Ruda Kasparek's POV: We were on the coast when a truck full of randoms appears out of nowhere, realizing we were outnumbered, we head north, and we notice they were all aggressively chasing us down. They were very close to us the entire time, and @groovy pips was eventually initiated on. We then decide to setup an ambush for their truck, we sit there for a bit, then we kill the people who initiated on one of our members with our defense rights. Soon after that, we find @Ryan Shepherd and @OxeN then secure them as hostages. As we were getting everything settled, @Hex (one of the people in the truck that was chasing us down) logs in and sprays ducky in the back, despite being very outnumbered. Due to @Hex randomly logging in and spraying one of us down, we executed the hostages.

Dusan Sousek POV: I just get done wrapping up with a hostage we had taken 10 or so minutes before, letting him go with a few lessons on what god does to people who preach heresies such as Islam. I start jogging over to @pijkaCZ when I spot a conga line of all black wearing men running down the road through a gap in the fence - it's at this point me and @pijkaCZ make our way into the swamps, running east for a while before doubling back and going west. During this time, we hear @groovy pips initiate conversation with the chasing party. "I'm putting my hands up" is soon heard, and as we know we can't fight them in the open due to their superior numbers, we work out their most likely route back north - which we correctly guess to be through Pavlovo and Zelenogorsk.

We reach Pavlovo in the nick of time, setting up both on the road behind the barricades and the tree cover surrounding the road on either side, and, just as the truck crests the hill, I walk out into the middle of the road in the assumption that they had already passed us. I see the truck and hear the music they're playing over VOIP and jump back to my position. Maybe two seconds later, the shots start flying, and I sprint across the road to the opposite treeline where I flank the truck from the left side, firing blindly on the remaining fighter as @groovy clarence hits him from the other side. He's dead soon enough, and I forego getting closer to hold a perimeter around the immobile truck; assuming they'd have reinforcements on the way. Soon enough, one of them logs back in, shoots Ducky, and gets his comrades executed for it. It doesn't take long for us to wrap up after that, making our way off into the trees, waiting our timers and logging out cause it was late.

Karl Sanders POV: We are at Wolfpack's base where it is decided upon that we will go check the Prison Island to see how Corp has recovered from the previous attack that we had done so swiftly the night prior. As we pull to the crossroads below Sinistok, Ryan Shepherd and crew walk up and decide to tag along, we drive through Balota, coming up on Komarovo where we see approximately 5-8 people (I do not have an exact number because I was tabbed out watching youtube while we drove), I tab back in and see multiple people at the Balota side of town that start booking it toward the hill's so we chase after them, I split off heading into the hill to look for the rest, after 5 minutes of chasing the boys catch one and start talking to them. I hear 5 minutes later over radio that Nintinskovich has told someone to put their hands up, I am currently on the hill above them during the time that all of this is happening, I didn't witness him kill @groovy pips, but I did hear him mention dropping radios multiple times as he double mic'd talking to her. Only @AidanVC @Daddy19RP initiated during this time. After @groovy pips is killed, I decide to come off the hill to run to the lighthouse around 300(ish) meters to my west that overlooks the southern highway. I get there and the boys swim over to prison island to look for any Corp that are there, unfortunately though, there are not any. So we decide to drive off where we meet Bands, bands initiates on Kordruga, and is subsequently killed for his actions by the one true Kord. We start driving north and I tab back out to finish watching my video. I hear multiple times (I play on windowed mode and can still hear in game audio) that if we go through Pavlovo we are going to die and to be ready to fight, as we are rolling through barricades multiple Russians come out with guns aiming at us yelling "Dobre Den Motherfuckers" (or something close to that), and we hit a barricade and almost everyone in the back is glitched out and is stuck sitting down, the angry ruskies start shooting the bed of the truck and I try to relog and my pc crashes, I get my pc started again and while loading up DayZ someone shoots Ryan and Oxen. Before I get back in the Russians run away from the truck and I end up living through it.

A couple concerns: 

1. I feel like the people that killed us shouldn't have had rights on us due to them running away from the situation that had gone on prior to the attack on us.

2. I feel like after the truck stopped they started shooting without yelling an initiation at all.

3. I feel like they Invalidly Executed @Ryan Shepherd and @OxeN.

Tander's POV: Not much I can say about the situation that hasn't already been said. I logged on and made my way south as directed in order to meet up with the group. Around the time I hit Zelenogorsk I hear shots coming from Pavlovo and radio in asking what had happened. This would be the time the truck was ambushed. I then continued my run up and then looted the corpses, this was however some time after the altercation as I had to run there still.

Aight here is what I got.

Video shows me tabbed out inside a tree, I tab back in because I hear @Bulgarian Bombshell yell that the truck is spotted and we mow it down as seen on the tape.

I only recently started recording again when I came back from my small break so an OBS update had fucked my audio settings and set my devices back to default.

Grigory Blazkov’s POV: Our formation was in Komarovo after the event of a previous unrelated interaction. I observed a truck, with a blue cab break our line, stop, and about a dozen armed individuals hastily dismounted and immediately gave chase to the members of our formation. Our formation broke line running into different directions to avoid initiation and a subsequent firefight in open ground where we would have been decimated due to the lack of cover and overwhelming hostile numbers. Our members evaded the armed pursuers, all but @groovy pips who was initiated on and subsequently killed. After the initial dispersion I took an observational position in the industrial compound located South of Komarovo. I reported to my formation of the movements of the armed individuals in question who initiated and killed a member of our group. After the previously mentioned events I observed these said individuals mount their blue cabbed truck and initially set off driving East in the direction of Chernogorsk. The said blue truck then changed direction and began driving West in direction of Pavlovo. I then ran West to regroup with my group. We regrouped near the Pavlovo military installation where manned a roadblock, presuming it was the route the truck would pass through. We assumed fighting positions behind the barricades and in the trees at each side of the road and we waited. We waited only about 2 – 3 minutes until I first heard, then I established a visual of the incoming truck carrying the initiating party previously mentioned. I announced that the truck was coming, letting the truck pass me as I was the first man in line manning a barricade, where we sprung the ambush and opened fire on the truck. The truck spun out quickly after the initial barrage of bullets ensued. As the rest of the members of the formation finished off the rest of the fighters who dismounted from the truck, I flanked around the front of the truck to box them in. We assumed control of two hostages who survived the ambush. Soon after the supposed end of the firefight an individual who was sitting in the truck at the time who disconnected at some point during the ambush reconnected and shot and killed @Ducky, and as a result we immediately gunned him down. Furthermore, we gunned down the two hostages due to the rescue attempt by the individual who reconnected and killed @Ducky.

REASON

The GM team have reviewed this huge report and finally come to a conclusion. This whole situation reeks of rulebreaks, and in the process of going through all the evidence found some damning and very disappointing things going on during the events, and in the days after. We will attempt to break this down in order and cleanly.

To summarize the events, The Time and a few lads from the Trade Union dynamic roams around the map with @KordrugaRP as their driver. They arrive in Komarovo and see a group that wears the same clothing as Kamenici, and decide to hunt them down. They eventually capture @groovy pips, take her back to Komarovo and execute her. Kamenici ran away and set up an ambush. The Time + friends then move to Prison Island, and upon getting back on shore they encounter @BandsRP, who initiates on @KordrugaRP and is killed. The guys then move north and eventually run into Kamenici's ambush just south of Pavlovo.

Shots are exchanged, people are killed, some are stuck in the truck, and @Ryan Shepherd + @OxeN are taken hostage. One of The Time's members log back in and shoots at Kamenici, resulting in Ryan and Oxen's death.

Then this report happened. Now onto the reasoning behind all the verdicts.

@Daddy19RP - RULE PLAY

The capture and execution of @groovy pips was captured on camera by @Hofer while he was free camming around the situation from first contact until her execution. This evidence has been used to judge this as rule play. @Daddy19RP and his crew waited approximately 5 minutes after having caught Pips before initiating. There are claims made that @groovy pipswas baiting and NVFL, however we see no such thing in our internal recording.

Baiting is the act of provoking, insulting, or acting in an offensive manner unsuitable to the roleplay at hand. Refusing to follow someone that she feels has ill intentions for her is not baiting. Players are not required to listen to you without an initiation. Baiting would be forcing someone's hand into initiating by goading them into it or provoking them into it. In this case Daddy19RP forced his own hand by choosing to try to detain her. If he didn't want to initiate, he simply had to walk away.

The initiation goes along the lines of "Drop your backpack and weapon and move to the truck" and is made by @Daddy19RP, which then gives Kamenici DEFENDER RIGHTS on The Time. Due to Kamenici having been present only minutes before and travelling as a group, they are considered to have recently roleplayed together, as the situation that led to the Time initiating on Pips was the same situation that led to Kamenici scattering in the first place. Pips complies and follows the now hostage takers. They move towards Komarovo and when they're very close in the tree lines @Daddy19RP tells her to drop her radio or any knives, in which Pips does not seem to hear what is being said, not that this matters.

Upon arrival at the house on the border of Komarovo @Daddy19RP repeats the demand for her to drop her radio or she would die. She then lines up in front of the house and is asked yet again. She starts replying but is then shot mid sentence by @Daddy19RP.

@Daddy19RP: While you technically did have kill rights on @groovy pips due to her not following your demands, she was no threat to you or anyone around you. You could've done this in many different ways, but you chose to end the roleplay with her there by executing her, disallowing any hostage roleplay or any hostage exchange later down the line. You didn't even get to ask her important questions about Kamenici.

You state in your own POV in this report that they were so far away that they should not get defender rights, which is incorrect as they did recently roleplay with her. But by stating that you also contradict yourself. If they are so far away, they are no threat to you or your crew.

What you did is rule play. You prioritized kill rights over roleplay, and will therefore be punished for rule play.

The rules you have broken are the following:

3.3 You may not focus on out of character gains to the detriment of RP. For example, "rule play" is prioritizing things like kill rights or OOC information above more appropriate IC actions or behavior. Always prioritize role play over rule play.

4.6 If you successfully capture a player through a hostile action and then take him into your custody, he is now considered your hostage. You must do everything in your power to keep your hostages alive and in a relatively good health. That includes protecting them from external threats like zombies and leaving them with a realistic chance of survival when they are released. A character that is taken hostage may be executed once for a hostile incident that happened in the past where the hostage was personally responsible for, or participated in a death of your ally. In any other circumstances, hostages may only be executed in the following scenarios:

  • Hostages do not comply with your demands after repeated requests or try to escape.
  • Hostages pose a direct threat to you or your group, for example by picking up a weapon when not allowed to.
  • Hostages do not value their life, for example they repeatedly talk back or insult you despite being told to stop.
  • Approved group of the hostage or their allies refuse to negotiate or open fire on hostage takers.
  • Demands from negotiations with approved group of the hostage have not been met after a reasonable time has elapsed.

@Hex - AOGM, NVFL & INVALID KILL (FIREFIGHT)

During the capture of @Ryan Shepherd & @OxeN, you state in your POV that you were stuck in the truck and had to log out @Hex. This is fine, and we do understand that you only wanted to fix the issue. However the problem lies with you not explaining this to anyone OOC neither before OR after you logged out, which would be the decent thing to do in this situation. You were experiencing OOC issues, and this should've been explained OOCly. You abused the game mechanics by logging in and logging out without stating this to the players affected by this action, and then using it for an in-game advantage. You should have OOCly communicated it just like @Ryan Shepherd did. Because you abused game mechanics the kill on @Ducky will be deemed invalid.

You logged back in and your immediate reaction to the situation was blasting @Ducky in the head while surrounded by at least 5 Kamenici members, which can be seen clearly around you in @Ryan Shepherd's video. This is a blatant breach of NVFL, and will therefore result in your character being permanently killed as well.

The rules you have broken are the following:

2.2 Exploiting or abuse of game mechanics (AOGM) is gaining an unfair advantage by using game bugs or mechanics in a way that the developer did not intend them to work. 

3.2 Your character must behave realistically and appropriately to the different situations you participate in, keeping the current world situation and context of post-apocalyptic world in mind. Do not act in a way that indicates no value for your characters life and survival. For example, attempting to kill people when heavily outnumbered, excessively talking back or insulting someone when taken hostage, or knowingly running into an area of active hostile engagement when not involved in the fight. Characters found guilty of breaking this rule will be permanently marked as dead.

@groovy chernon - INVALID KILL (ROLEPLAYED) x2

@groovy chernon was the one to execute and kill @Ryan Shepherd and @OxeN. The kills were invalid, due to the fact that @Hex logged in on the truck and started firing at Kamenici. This was a rule break in itself, and you can't gain rights from rule breaks. In addition to this neither @Ryan Shepherd nor @OxeN is part of The Time, who did the original initiation, and therefore had no active kill rights upon them. Both of them were complying to your demands after the capture, and could not be executed for non-compliance. This makes the executions invalid. Due to there being two hostages executed by you the punishment will be aggravated.

The rules you have broken are the following:

@ChaseRP - COMBAT LOGGING

During the firefight that ensued when the truck arrived south of Pavlovo, you were in the truck and and got stuck like both @Ryan Shepherd and @Hex did. You claim in your POV that you crashed, but you didn't log in again until 25 minutes later. We have a hard time believing that a PC crash lasts for that long.

As you see from the logs above they were killed almost 20 minutes before you logged back in. 

Due to this you will be punished for combat logging. Even if this was a PC crash you should've communicated OOCly with the opposing party telling them about your issues, and you should've hopped into the helpdesk to inform a Gamemaster or Administrator. You failed to do this.

The rules you have broken are the following:

4.5 Combat logging is leaving the server during or shortly after a hostile situation or when your character is still involved in active role play. After a hostile action has occurred where you were involved, you may only log out from the game after a minimum of 30 minutes have passed since you broke the line of sight with others involved in that situation. @pijkaCZ - ATTEMPTED INVALID KILL

During the execution of @Ryan Shepherd and @OxeN you attempted killing @OxeN by firing at him.

When the truck arrived you shot at the truck. You hit @Challenger who is not part of The Time, and this makes the hit invalid on him.

That includes protecting them from external threats like zombies and leaving them with a realistic chance of survival when they are released. A character that is taken hostage may be executed once for a hostile incident that happened in the past where the hostage was personally responsible for, or participated in a death of your ally. In any other circumstances, hostages may only be executed in the following scenarios:

  • Hostages do not comply with your demands after repeated requests or try to escape.
  • Hostages pose a direct threat to you or your group, for example by picking up a weapon when not allowed to.
  • Hostages do not value their life, for example they repeatedly talk back or insult you despite being told to stop.
  • Approved group of the hostage or their allies refuse to negotiate or open fire on hostage takers.
  • Demands from negotiations with approved group of the hostage have not been met after a reasonable time has elapsed.

@groovy clarence - INVALID KILL (ON SIGHT) x2, ATTEMPTED INVALID KILL

During the encounter when the truck arrived you invalidly killed two players, @KordrugaRP and @Challenger, and attempted to kill @Queerios.

These kills/hits are invalid due to Kamenici not having any kill rights on either of the players. None of them initiated on @groovy pips or were part of The Time, which did the initiation. There was no roleplay involved with the stopping of the truck, except for a short "Dobry Den Motherfuckers". Due to this the kills will be deemed on sight.

The rules you have broken are the following:

@Ducky - LYING IN A REPORT, METAGAMING, ATTEMPTED INVALID KILL x3

There are several issues here, and it started during the event itself.

ATTEMPTED INVALID KILL

During the encounter with the truck you attempted killing @KordrugaRP, @Challenger and @Ryan Shepherd.

None of these hits were valid as none of them are part of The Time. None of them initiated on @groovy pips and was not part of The Time, which did the initiation. There was no roleplay involved with the stopping of the truck, except for a short "Dobry Den Motherfuckers".

LYING IN A REPORT

Aight here is what I got.

Video shows me tabbed out inside a tree, I tab back in because I hear @Bulgarian Bombshell yell that the truck is spotted and we mow it down as seen on the tape.

I only recently started recording again when I came back from my small break so an OBS update had fucked my audio settings and set my devices back to default.

In your own post where you added the video, hidden in the spoiler above, you claim that you had issues with the audio due to OBS messing with your default devices.

The staff team have received a significantly long clip from your video WITH audio. This clearly shows to us that you've tampered with the evidence, which is bad enough in itself, but you also lied in this report. You know very well that lying in a report and tampering with evidence is a very serious manner, and your punishment will be accordingly adjusted.

After communicating with @Ducky on Discord he admitted to removing the audio from his video.

METAGAMING

In addition to this you can also be seen not double micing, which is metagaming. You are conveying IC information on Discord/TeamSpeak to your allies without holding your in game microphone.

After further review of this report a new staff team have agreed that adjustments need to be made.

@Ducky, @groovy clarence and @groovy tony. In the original verdict you were all found guilty of attempting to or invalidly killing members that were not apart of The Time. After further discussion between myself and @Roland we do not believe this to be invalid as they were at the scene of the original initiation on @groovy pips . They had full knowledge of the situation including initiation for which they were present and taking of hostages with whom they travelled. By doing so you have accepted the possible consequences that could occur within the 2 hour time span from said initiation and risks involved by traveling and escorting hostages together with The Time during that time. Your kills will therefore we considered valid.


As the executions were deemed to be done after a rulebreak the punishments for the kills/ attempted kills on the complying hostages will remain the same.

With this said the following changes will be made:

@groovy clarence - Punishment Revoked
@groovy tony - Punishment Revoked

@Ducky - Punishment Reduced | 7 Days 15 Points
