Upcoming new mods

I didn't see this coming. For me these mods totally don't fit on a rp server. I find both the NPC traders and fast travel mod a really bad idea and immersion breaking. The trader mod will get rid of all the actual trader groups, because everyone can easily find the npc's. And fast travel will ruin all the random encounters you get when you just travel around the map by walking or driving. This while there has been alot of complaining about people not meeting anyone on the road. The fast travel mod will make this issue even worse.

I highly advise and hope for the quality of roleplay that both the trader mod and the fast travel mod don't get implemented.

While I personally think that NPC traders shouldn't be a part of this game, I am willing to give it a chance and see how it plays out on our servers. Could be interesting, as long as they don't sell insane amounts of high grade items. Could also be a catastrophe, but then they're easily removed again.

I mean no offence by this, but shouldn't these decisions be made by people actively playing on the server? We are the ones being affected by them and have at least some knowledge as to what actually happens IG and how the server plays. People voted No on fast travel and unless a new poll is made up and people vote for it to be added then there is but no reason to push this into the server.

Like there are plenty of mods like AirDrop that I'd have loved to be added, but people voted against it so I respect that and move on.

I get that you want to help Rolle, but bringing random mods like NPC traders without the community's input is not a good decision.

No to fast travel and NPC Traders. Please don't do this. It literally takes the realism out of this game and its going to drive people away even more.

The community voted against the fast travel mod heavily in the last poll. I'm strongly against it on principle, although the method in which its being introduced isn't that bad. But I'd still rather it not exist.

I'd also like to ask for extremely clear rules regarding behavior around the safe zone. Given as this will act as a hub and draw people in, I suspect there will inevitable rise hostilities in the safe zone or around it. How will this be handled? 

  • Can people run from active fights into the trade zone if they are nearby?
  • If someone is out of an active fight, can they go 'wait out' their kill rights in the safe zone?
  • Can people initiate in the safe zone? What about talk smack and big dick? How will this be handled if people are found to be using the fact the safe zone is there as RP-armor to protect themselves?
  • For fast travel, how will this be handled in regards to firefights/hostilities?

 

Some of these were answered to me in private, but posting here for transparency to the community.

These additions are only gonna hurt the already poor level of roleplay on the server, unless you wanna turn this into a DayZ Life community.

Holy fuck role this is fantastic, only thing that concerns me is the fast travel option as people may use it as a quick getaway from a gun fight or straight after they have robbed someone but I guess if you made rules about not doing that it would be fine .

Well, just to tag on to what everyone else has pretty much been saying: Traders and Fast travel is an awful idea.

Secondly,  I'm gonna almost guaruntee that certain groups that just want to meme will just make all their guns pink or some stupid all color, and I can't wait for that to ruin my immersion more as they all fast travel away after all buying ghillie suits and cat ears. 

This wasn't very cash money of you.

I run a trader up at Altar,  I would hate to see NPC traders. I think traders will ruin the realism

I could've sworn that the poll to add fast travel failed horribly...

We are not playing Skyrim and in need of a quick teleport to Dawnstar. This is a roleplay server. We have recently had a host of new vehicles added for people to use in order to transport themselves and their friends around the map. Fast travel makes no sense for roleplay. Cars make sense. Why can we not just stick to cars?

I like the idea of a trade post. It brings back somewhat happy memories for me however I completely disagree with the idea of NPC traders. Once again, this is a roleplay server. Let people go there to roleplay and trade with eachother, creating roleplay. Why would anybody need to roleplay as a trader now when the competition for their business is open 24/7 at the trade post.

Spray painted guns... this is a feature that I have missed since it was part of the vanilla game back in the day. I am happy to see it however I am not sure how I feel about fluorescent pink/yellow/cyan guns etc. Black is nice, other camouflage colours are nice but do we really want to see all the gun bunnies running around toting bright coloured guns? I feel it would just kill immersion a little bit.

It was not long ago that bright coloured gorka jackets were suggested but the idea was shut down for them not being realistic or something... but these new colours for guns are fine? Please no.

This is a terrible idea. 
 

A safe zone trading post with a casino on a roleplay server, fast travel? This is turning into a modded pvp server with rules. This all just doesn’t make sense and has no place in this server. 
 

- Trading posts should be made by players and made “safe” by players 

-Fast Travel has no place in a RP server, a large portion of roleplay IS the travel, why cut that out cuz people are lazy?

-Casino is just completely pointless along with the trader. Why on earth would ai stuff like this be added on a roleplay server??

Fast travel was already polled and it failed miserably yet it is still being added...

There is no point in polls it seems.

Trader - I'm personally down for it as long as it's player driven. Reminds me of Runecape when the Grand Exchange was introduced, people went into uproar about it but it ended up being one of the biggest hubs for trading.

Weapon Painting - Remove fluorescent colors, doesn't make sense and would just look weird/dumb.

Fast Travel - Big nope. This is a survival game and planning out a trip by checking if you have enough supplies to make a certain journey enhances the trip, atleast for me. Don't like the idea of someone holding a person up and all of a sudden, their group of friends TP in behind them. -1
