Roland 9800 Posted October 16 This is a thread about new mods coming to DayZRP in the near future. Get hyped! Traders We are adding a trade post with traders, casino and a social hub! The trade post is a safe zone and will be located at the top of Klen Mountain as a homage to the very first trade post on DayZRP which was added in that very same location in late 2012. The trade post will have various NPC vendors for food, tools, supplies, clothes, weapons, ammo, equipment and even vehicles. Only more common items will be sold by traders, rare and high end armor or weapons for example will not be sold. They will however accept most items in game in case you want to sell them for rubles. The economy and prices are dynamic and based on supply and demand - selling an item will lower its sell price, while buying it will increase it. I hope that this will create a player driven economy which will give a lot of you a new fun thing to focus on ("disregard females, acquire currency"). There is also going to be a black market trader, who will have a limited supply of rare or even normally unobtainable items to sell and will refresh his stock with new items randomly, probably every few days. To keep your money safe we are also adding a wallet, in which you can store your rubles and easily see your balance by hovering over it with your mouse. To allow for improved communication quality, we're also adding LittleQuieter mod, which will lower the sound effects coming from fire barrels, fire places and inside the cars, so that you can more easily hear each other when talking. DayZ Casino Adds dealers for dice, blackjack and lucky wheel to lose your hard earned rubles! Dealers will be located at the trade post, chips are also sold and cashed out at the trader there. DayZWeaponsPainting Adds spray cans that can modify the look of most weapons in game. Spray cans can be purchased as a single use item spawn in the item shop. Fast Travel Fast travel allows for instant teleportation between predefined locations on the map. You must have a fast travel ticket in your inventory to use those. Tickets are sold by traders at the trade post. To begin with we will have five locations, four in each corner of the map (NW, NE, SW, SE) which require a regular ticket. The fifth location is inside the trade post itself and requires a more expensive golden ticket. There is no release date for these mods and features. I still have quite a bit of work left to do with adjustments of objects in the trade post, item shop spray cans as well as a huge job of creating a trader config for all items in the game and setting their initial prices individually. But I wanted to showcase what I am working on and what you can expect from the next update. Things showcased here may or may not make it to the final release. Revie 228 Posted October 16 New mods always sound like fun, yet I have to be honest... I don't really like these ones. Why is it necessary to implement a NPC trader on a roleplay server? These can't be talked to (so no real RP coming from interacting with them), they can't even be robbed or being interacted with in any other way than just selling and buying like on a PVE server. Yeah, on a PVE server this might could be something good, but on a roleplay server? I really don't see why... same with the casino, it's simply interacting with an NPC instead of a real character... And fast travel...? Why? We have tons of cars on the map which can be used for quicker travel. Sure you need to buy a ticket to use it but still... I'm sorry... DerrickStorm 404 Posted October 16 (edited) I don't want to be a party pooper but please not the Fast Travel mod... I know we're here to roleplay and have fun, but lets try to keep at least a piece of realism and a little bit of happiness from owning a car or meeting people that are traveling from distant parts of the map. Even the poll showed most of people don't want it. Do not stomp my hopes and dreams to the ground with this mod. The rest I can cope with (probably with even more alco than now...) Kenyi 144 Posted October 16 (edited) Maybe the Trade Post implementation will create a bit more of a economy, but I'm fairly certain that in reality bigger groups will just end up hoarding things for sale and grind up high-value items that will break the trader economy and just end up making it near impossible for dynamics and/or solos to really do anything with it. That combined with the fact that there'll be a loud backlash against any implementation of a Safezone from a chunk of the community makes me feel like the Trader Post will not be a easily accepted mod. But I'm all for trying, if anything. We don't know what happens until we try. The weapon painting one, knowing this community, will cause people to run around with hot pink weapons for the memes. But I'll take that for granted for a chance to properly spraypaint my rifle in more woodland coloring. The Fast Travel mod was voted against (solid 77% no against 23% yes) during the suggestion phase and is the only one that makes me genuinely wonder why this is being implemented. I'd love to know the reasoning behind it, because as it stands this the general consensus was that people did not want the Fast Travel mod. Dustup 269 Posted October 16 (edited) soooooooo, just asking for a friend who doesn't want their "immersion" broken, but can the trader be murdered and can rubles be stolen/taken from peoples wallets (can they be forced to transfer them to you) or did I misunderstand and you mean the IG rubles that you see now (which can be taken from inventories)?
