Background

I am a wife, a mother, a sister and a daughter... or atleast I was. Not in a million years would I have thought that a family trip that we were all going to enjoy would have landed us in the middle of ground zero for this devastating virus. I remember it like it was yesterday even though we have been surviving in this forsaken land for what looks to be like 3 or 4 weeks. I have lost track of time and this infection from the wounds I have due to the plane crash we were in, have taken a toll on my health. I have been having fevers and chills... (looking back on my memories) It was a Tuesday morning and we were getting ready to leave the house. I remember telling my son Julian to make sure he took toiletries and pack some clean socks. Why did I have a fight with him, when I could have hugged him instead. We waited for the cab to take us to the airport and I remember hearing my mom's voice for the last time, she was telling me to have a good trip and enjoy the outdoors. We were supposed to go hunting, hiking and exploring in the woods... from the looks of the situation it looks like we will enjoy the outdoors more than we were planning to . As soon as we arrived at the airport we checked in our luggage. We went to wait for our plane at gate 4 and heard about a certain virus that was keeping people under quarantine close to the town we were heading to but as always didn't think anything of it, and just thought it would blow over in a few weeks, plus we were going to be 11,000 kilometers from there and in the woods. We thought we would be safe! The plane ride was going great and about 1 hr before landing we heard over the speaker the pilot, saying there would be a bit of turbulence and we would be over it in a few minutes. Thats when a big explosion made the plane start to loose elevation and started to head straight to the ground. I held my son tight and told him he would be fine, that we would all be FINE! In a matter of seconds I lost consciousness and when I woke up my husband was calling out for our son. Along with other survivors we managed to move some of the more wounded into safety.
I have some medical background and I was able to help but to a limited degree due to the lack of tools and medicine. Some of the male survivors along with my husband Murphy Van Moon, have been making runs into the nearest town to get medicines and supplies but have not had any luck coming across any clinics or hospitals. We are right now in a small farm on the outskirts of town that we had apparently seen on the news and there are what some may call the infected or the Z's short for zombies. I still have this wound in my leg that limits my walking for long periods of time and has made the moving to a safer area not possible. Most of the survivor decided to leave and look for safer and more secluded areas. (I hope they made it and maybe they can bring help, but that was 2 weeks ago and we are loosing hope) The worst part of all this is that our son went missing in the crash, from what it looks like some big faction took him and I want to go and find him! I want to get my boy BACK! He is only 15 years old. We will find him no matter how far we need to search and the measures we need to take. I got my medical training from the army and something we learned is that you never give up. We will find him at al cost!
