Ken grew up in a broken home in one of the most poverty-stricken areas in eastern Glasgow. His father was a pilot who was deeply disturbed by the splitting from his wife, he often blamed Ken as the reason for their divorce. Ken's father found a new job as a pilot in Lakselv, Norway shortly after the divorce from his wife was finalised. Ken majoritively stayed with his mother during the divorce and very seldomly saw his father. During his first visit with his father, Lakselv went into lockdown. Ken and his father would get along well during the first few months of being trapped inside their home together, but the longer they would spend cooped up inside, the more tensions would arise between the two. Ken's father was incredibly pessimistic about the lockdown and presumed things would only get worse, whereas Ken believed that the government knew what they were doing and the lockdown was necessary to stop the spread of the virus. This disagreement sparked many arguments between the pair, and the two would not speak with each other for days on end. Months after what was the suspected end of the world, Ken and his father heard news of a nearby town harbouring refugees. Delighted by the news, the two headed towards what seems to be the last remains of modern society.
