Sofía grew up in Brazil, admiring her father's work in the United Nations. She eventually followed in his footsteps, firstly joining the Brazilian armed forces, and eventually making her way up the promotion line to a Second Sergeant; equivalent to that of a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. Once she was recruited by the UN for her qualifications, she was recognized as a Staff Sergeant. For the first six months of being in the UN, she was deployed to Lebanon, and helped in monitoring cessation of hostilities and helping ensure humanitarian access to the civilian population. Once her six months were up, she was assigned to Chernarus for peace keeping duties.
