My name is Paul Nguyen. I was born in Orange County California. I had 3 brothers in which i was the middle. I lived in Orange County my entire life until I was old enough to go to college. I was suppose to become a computer science major and if that didn't work i was aiming for other fields that dealt with technology. I also had a knack for history especially military history that was derrived from my older brother who had a love for history and would always discuss with me in which because of him I tend to think about history and then of him. My eldest brother had autism which quickly threw me into the eldest and my parents worked me on all that. I learned how to do every single chore to be deemded self sufficient. Not only was I self sufficient but since I cared so much about my family I put everyone else’s needs and demands in front of my own making me selfless. The entirety of high school I was anti social because I put my family first in front of everything else and the only sociable thing I could do was play video games.
I had some skills for example being able to type 100+ words per minute or my love for cars that I had ever since I was a young boy and had the goal of owning a Suburu or Mitsubishi equivalent or the botany class I took which I gained special recognition for being the only student in the entire high school have something live past day 2. After graduation I had it all planned out and then I got hit with what was I going to do if it didn’t work out and some deep thinking and a couple hours of video games later I ended up becoming a police officer for the LAPD to make a difference in people's lives and protect those in need. I stayed in the rank of Patrol Officer as I wasn’t in the force long enough to attain anything notable but still it beats sitting at a desk all day.
Time had passed and my Commanding Officer (C.O) and a couple of the rookies got this great extravagant idea and decided for some of us to get into an officer exchange program in which I accepted because I'd get to go visit places I probably would never get the chance to visit. Upon arrival I would be stationed in Elektro to assist officers and learn from them. I spent another some more time with the Elektro Police Department (E.P.D) and stayed as a patrol officer until the virus hit.
The weeks to come were hell. The riots were non-stop and for the most part I would be assisting the Elektro Police Department in a fight for control of the city. In a long battle we had finally become overrun by the mass amounts of infected and we lost the docks. I hid in an apartment block north of Elektro until things died down. As I walked down towards the police station I could see all the spent bullet casings and dead corpses of civilians and police officers alike.
Later I met these two Scots who somehow survived the aftermath and thankfully i knew them because I helped in their business ventures during my time in Elektro at first it was the veterans of the Police Department was helping then they got a hold of the entire police department so I of course went and helped and become a trusted associate. Since law and order was broken now my contribution to the group was to run supplies and security for the supply runners that I learnt to know to become my best friends.
Slowly the world began to resent the CDF and UN so the two brothers took all the associates made here and to be transported back to the safety of Scotland. I was suppose to leave with everyone else until the sound of the plane brought down a horde on everyone and as the numbers grew thinner I stayed behind to solidify everyone's escape and the last thing I remember one of the last requests I made to the two Scots was to giving them a journal I kept writing to each family member hoping to one day find them. As that little red dot on their plane faded I ran and ran until i couldn't run no more. I hid up in a house near the airfield and slowly the horde disperse and I stayed alone in solitude and farmed for crops until I ran out of supplies now the world has changed and I need to get back out there.
