Frank was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and had an unremarkable upbringing. Average grades in school were followed by a variety of jobs, with Frank never finding his true calling. Frank led an uninteresting life before the virus. At the time he was a hospital administrator in his native Scotland his only interest was visiting obscure places other tourists wouldn't usually go to. His job back home gave him at least some medical knowledge though it's uncertain how well he could apply this to real life situations.
Frank was visiting Nyheim when the virus struck, stranding him there. Since then he has struggled to survive, unfamiliar with the customs and locations of Nyheim. Frank is keen to adapt and overcome his situation, while being well aware he may die there.
He hopes to find others he can help and become useful in the madness. Frank is a quiet, sometimes shy man but has a good heart. Often anxious and hesitant in stressful situations but often likes to push himself and prove he can succeed.
Frank found himself in Nyheim after traveling for a ski trip. It was clear on arrival something was very wrong and Frank quickly found himself among the many looking for ways to survive. Frank found himself in south Nyheim City after losing track of his friends. He set up in a garage, collecting the things necessary for survival. He soon felt he needed somewhere better than a damp garage so moved into the large apartment block adjacent to it, forging a more comfortable home. There he would scavenge by night while watching his neighbours and the chaos of the city by day. Things were as good as could be while surviving the apocalypse except one thing - he was very much alone.
One day while out scavenging for supplies in south Nyheim city Frank was approached by a woman who introduced herself as Ella. The two chatted for some time while waiting for Ella's friend. Eventually her friend arrived, dressed in a tracksuit and speaking with a thick eastern European accent. He introduced himself as Vadim and told Frank he lived in a city to the north called Nyvoll, or better known as "Dead City". Frank agreed to come up north and have a look around with them, stopping on the way to help a nice couple, Erika and Rex, move their belongings from their cabin to Nyvoll. When Frank arrived in Nyvoll he was shown around the groups compound. Protected by tall walls, it was a safe haven for any weary travelers. There Frank met another two eastern European men, Siamion and Stanislav, who shared the leadership of the camp with Vadim. After a few days of visiting the offer was made to Frank to move in permanently, which Frank gladly accepted. Over the space of weeks Frank met and lived with many great and interesting characters in the compound such as Steven (who died after being bitten by an infected), Shepard (who Frank learned had also died much later), Jenna, Mia, Joel, Coffman, Trixie and many more but Frank became especially close with Tim the military man, John the wandering bard and Max the seasoned hunter. The camp saw many hard times, battles with anarchists, assaults by mercenaries, Russian invasions and sieges by Ukrainian paramilitaries but the camp held firm. Great times were had but all good times must come to an end and the camps leadership were required back home. Numbers dwindled until a small core of Frank, Tim, John and Max remained. They were soon joined by Emilie, a fiery Scot, and Dewi, a charming Welshman. Together they made a plan to make a new beginning beneath the beautiful green auroras.
The group began dismantling the compound in Dead City, transporting the essentials up to a warehouse near the church. There they settled in and set up their new home. They found new companions along the way such as Dimitorou, an exuberant Russian man, and Valantha, who was as quiet as a mouse. They went on adventures, hunted ghosts, held boxing tournaments and battled hordes. The good times weren't to last however. Soon bandits were upon them, rinsing them of what little ammo and money they had. They attempted to stand their ground but failed, leading to the death of Max who was buried on the hill nearby. Faced with seemingly no choice, the group packed up and headed north to Halvoya. There they settled in a caravan park and greeted the locals. Their numbers dwindled from exhaustion, adventure and hostilities until it was finally time to say goodbye. The friends went their separate ways and Frank, with Emilie by his side, headed home to Nyvoll.

I won't lose you too. She’s too nice for this world. I could get lost in those shiny eyes. I’m glad she finally took that mask off, her smile is so warming.
I adopted Ceilidh after Emilie's death. She reminds me a lot of her. She's just as loud and clumsy but she gives me purpose. She has a terrible taste in men. She better never try and shoot me again, even for fun.
The voice of reason and our eyes and ears. Never without his trusty camera. A good man.
He's a bit of an ass but never caused me any problems. Glad he's on my side.
Another friend from Smoki Loki. A solid guy and a good laugh. Always a bit lost and confused though.
Fucking terrifying at times. She's done terrible things to people I've known. I've seen her at her weakest though, she's still human like the rest of us.
I don't know him too well but Penelope thinks a lot of him. I won't let him down.
Please stop speaking.
