Josh Cooter was the youngest of four, born into poverty in Louisville, Kentucky. At the age of six, his father was murdered on a repossession job. His mother turned to drugs to cope. Josh and his three siblings Peaches, Joe, and Hamthir, were left to hold the family together. Joe Cooter took over his fathers business with Cooter Customs, Body Towing & Recovery and kept the family afloat. Hamthir joined the USMC, while Josh went to Indiana University School of medicine. While in Indiana Josh majored in surgery and became a level 1 trauma surgeon and continued his studies to earn his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Minor in Molecular Genetics.

Not long after graduation Josh was called into an emergency surgery, when he got there he found out it was his sister Peaches. She died on the table due to multiple bags of cocaine and heroin bursting open in her body. Josh found out she was forced to mule drugs for a Mexican cartel she was sold to by an ex boyfriend to pay off his debts. Josh went crazy trying to find who was responsible, digging through her background while questioning and intimidating people she had contact with. Feeling he was getting too close, the DEA raided Josh’s home and arrested him. During a long interrogation Josh had seemingly convinced the DEA to hire him and allow him to legally investigate the cartel. In only 3 months Josh had brought down the entire cartel and started his long career as a DEA Agent.

Few years go by and Agent Cooter is given a joint assignment with the FBI to Afghanistan about a terrorist cell with a bio chemical weapon, given his background in biology he was selected to go. Upon his arrival Josh is greeted by FBI agent Paul Williams with his usual cold greeting he gives to everyone. The operation lasted a year before they finally sent an AGM-86 cruise missile into the front door of the terrorist’s front door. Josh would return home and continue working for the DEA for a few years until COVID-19 happened where he was reassigned to work with the CDC for a time and then eventually sent to Norway to work with PLIKT. Happy to see Paul there as well, Josh started researching the outbreak well into the fall of society. Becoming one of the lead scientists as well as lead doctors Josh dedicated himself to finding a cure and is hopeful he will find one in Nyheim.

After just 15 days in Nyheim Cooter watched PLIKT destroy itself from the inside. Betrayed by the people he tried to protect for following the orders given to him for following his commanders orders, Cooter was dragged off by an old friend and given medical treatment that saved his life. He requested them to do surgery to alter his face to make him unrecognizable to anybody that knew him. His mentality has begun to change and is no longer the man he once was. With damaged lungs Cooter requests returning home but was denied by his RegCom. Traumatized from watching his group commit genocide even against children Cooter was glad to see them leave.
