Background
Even as a child Jon was always rebellious by nature and loved nothing more than to push the boundaries of authority especially if he deemed the authority to be unfair. He was quite the little freedom fighter back in the day and even managed to secure equal rights for the boys in his school by petitioning for boys to be allowed to wear shorts during the summer months as the girls had the option of skirts or trousers but the boys were limited to trousers... Jon never wore shorts once during his school years... but a wrong was righted and Jon could sleep easy again.
As Jon grew into his pre-adolescence he became more interested in world affairs and started reading up on religions, governments and world history as a whole. He was like a sponge soaking up all the information he could fit in that little head and would be constantly spouting historical facts and general knowledge... regularly challenging teachers on their "facts" and pointing out flaws in their "theories". He often found himself outside the headmasters office preparing to defend his position to the bitter end. As you can imagine, Jon wasn't a popular child but he was oblivious to it and it didn't phase him until around 15 years old when puberty eventually set in bringing with it an unbearable anxiety. He became evermore secluded and his research turned from the mainstream news and history into the rabbit hole that is conspiracy theories and the occult.
At 17 Jon enrolled in a college in the hopes to overcome his anxieties and hopefully form new friendships. It didn't take Jon long to realise that in this new environment where nobody knew him he was able to hide the old unpopular Jon and be a whole new and improved Jon and the others would never know. He became an expert at being confident, charming and cool... this was all a façade of course but Jon found himself with friends, going to parties and he was regularly getting himself laid with the "popular" girls... so the façade continued.
Jon enjoyed life immensely for the next 6 years as he partied, travelled parts of the world, worked all around the UK and met many wonderful people... but this whole time his mental state was going unchecked and he became evermore unstable as the years ticked all coming to a head at the age of 24. Jon was a student in university at this point and was embracing the student lifestyle with every fibre of his being... party all night and sleep it off during lectures. Such is the life it didn't take Jon long to find his way into the drug culture and this was where his whole life took a turn. Over the next 2 years Jon spiralled out of control finding himself caught up in drug dealing to feed his habit, he was stabbed and robbed simply for being white and was even the victim of an attempted date rape. Once his family caught wind of his spiralling condition and massive accrual of debt they intervened and had Jon sectioned to get the help he desperately needed.
Quickly diagnosed as a drug problem Jon received very little treatment and his condition went unchecked once more... but without the hard drugs Jon felt better and tried his best to stay on the road to recovery even if he found it impossible to give up the weed. He spent the next few years learning techniques such as meditation, self talk, affirmations and spiritual growth in an attempt the gain some sort of control over his life again. For the next few years he was able take on agency temp work and form stronger bonds with those around him. Things were looking up for Jon and his life gradually got better as time went by.
At 27 Jon fell head over heels in love and and in the next 3 years would propose, get married and have a beautiful little boy... and this was when Jon was at his happiest... for the next year at least. Jon refuses to talk about what happened with the relationship but its clear he is deeply scarred by it. During the years between 2010 and 2018 Jon's life was turned upside down with a divorce, custody battles for his child, mental health problems and eventually financial problems leading to him becoming homeless.
Jon was living in a tent when the pandemic 1st hit and the lockdowns began so was pretty oblivious to what was going on in the country and for 2 years he roamed the countryside hunting small animals and became quite efficient at killing and processing rabbit in particular. One day Jon was forced to take shelter in a barn where he found himself waiting out the storm with a group of people headed for the north-eastern coast so they might find a boat crossing to the Norwegian coastline. Jon had been out of society so long he had not heard of the corruption and stealing of rights occurring all across the UK and his distain for authority grew. He was told that there were whispers of a secret forced vaccination program and containment camps and as Jon had always been anti-vaccine for spiritual reasons anyway this disgusted him and there was absolutely no way they were taking his human rights and locking him down. At this point Jon decided to join the group of asylum seekers as one of them claimed he had a contact in Norway that would take us to a safe area where we can set up a new life.
Three and a half weeks later the group made it to a port in John O'Groates and boarded a small fishing boat that took them to Stromness on the Orkney Island. They travelled for a few more days eventually crossing to the Hollandstoun island where they hoped they might find a plane or helicopter at the airport there... there was none, however there was a large fishing vessel that had plenty of supplies to last 10 people at least a month. Not knowing exactly what they were doing they started up the boat and a series of guesses got them moving at least. All seemed well for the first 4 hours until the skies darkened, the wind grew and the waves swole. The storm grew quickly and soon they feared for their lives as they huddled together below deck while getting tossed all around and drenched in the overflow of the waves.... This was Jon's last memory before waking up on a cold stoney coastline with no sign of the rest of the group.
