Raised in Volgograd and named after the legendary sniper Vasily Zaitsev, Vasili moved to Saint Petersburg at the age of 6. Remembering practically nothing of Volgograd, Vasili enlisted into the Russian Army as a soldier, quickly making his way to a sergeant. He stayed with the army till 2012, and retired due to a problem with his hip. The year's leading up to the outbreak he spent most of his time living of his pension and just living life one day at a time. Being a man of few words, Vasili mostly communicates by sign language and the occasional "Da"
