Tommy Boots was never the sharpest tool in the box. His mind couldn't comprehend difficult situation and context, unless pretty pictures and shapes were involved. What he lacked in intelligence, Tommy made up for in brute strength. Gifted with a naturally large figure, he bullied his way through school and was shocked to find that it didn't work in the real world. Luckily he found an occupation that suited his "talents" (or lack of) perfectly. Tommy became a debt collector. He wouldn't ask questions- mainly because he wouldn't understand the answer- and could muscle his way through any doorway with ease. He didn't care for the pleas of people as he carted off valuable looking shiny things for price assessment. All he cared for was the coin that it would bring. He was paid well, but tended to spend it drinking with his few pals. After one particular incident, Tommy found himself on the wrong side of the law; being deemed to have aggressively handled a person without cause. He lost his job and sought employment over sees. The shipping yard seemed a suitable place, after all, his middle name was boats!
