Dima grew up in Volgograd, breezing through school and having a fairly stable home life. His father would occasionally suffer PTSD attacks related to his experiences in Chechnya. He joined the OMSN (SOBR) counter-terrorism unit in 2006, passing through the training and participating in several operations in Chechnya during the second war until its end in 2009. He resigned in 2012, after six years of service. He signed on with the Slavonic Corps in 2013 after being contacted by an old comrade with offer of a massive payout for easy work, and decided he could use the money after being out of a job for the past year. He participated in a skirmish on the road to Al-Sukhnah, getting wounded in the attack on their convoy. He went home empty handed, and escaped apprehension by the FSB narrowly. He continued his work as a contractor for several years before being contacted by a man calling himself "Bowman", partnering up with him and running several contracts together before being apprehended on the Chernarussian-Takistan border. He was shipped to a black site dating back to the civil war awaiting extradition back to Russia when the apocalypse hit.
