Yohannes was born in Sweden, Gothenburg to a Chernarussian mother and a German/Swedish father. He was raised in a small farm near the outskirts of Gothenburg along with his younger sister. Despite being half Chernarussian, Yohannes would feel more comfortable speaking Swedish or German. As a child his mother would take him to Belozersk to meet distant cousins which he reluctantly had to come and visit at times. At the age of 19 Yohannes had finished his senior high school and had no ambition to work instead he decided to stay at the farm and help his parents with taking care of the livestock and the small patch crops that they had. However after the summer, the same year he graduated he was restless, he couldn't bare remaining at the farm nor go on to the work sectors, until his father ironically joked about Yohannes wasting his time in the army instead. Towards Yohannes it didn’t seem that far fetched, the pay was decent, the training would be beneficial and it would be something he could put on his resume as well.
At the age of 20, Yohannes enlisted in the Swedish Army and began his GBT (General Basic Training), this included formal training (ranks, orders ect..), guard duty, handling and firing firearms and basic knowledge of first aid. Yohannes fellow comrades quickly found the him to be humours, kind and loyal towards his friends and with his seniors he would be humble and respective, showing professionalism when its required. The Bundeswehr helped cement the young farmer boy, most of the conscripts were from the inner cities and despite having issues finding common grounds with most of them he quickly adapted and was part of most inner circles.
Before the outbreak began Yohannes had been promoted to Vicekorpral. In 2017 Yohannes was informed he would be sent towards Chernarus due to the ensuing escalation and events unfolding and due to this Chernarussian accent his commanders saw him as an assent despite his basic knowledge of the Chernarussian language and culture. When arriving in Chernarus with the EU lead Nordic Battlegroup the situation was worse than expected. day for day the situation became more and more dire, with rarely any chance to relax. As Army graded supplies became an accomedy and them were forced to scavenge for supplies, the call was made to split up to several platoons in an attempt to survive while maintaing contact.
The group Yohannes find himself in was one of the first to quickly get over runned and scattered. They had overestimated their odds of survival when trying to head towards one of the bigger cities before being swarmed by the infected, killing most.
