Kusnetsov in Chechnya during President Putin's visit in 1999
Born in the frozen depths of Russia's northern territory, Vlad learned quickly it was survival of the fittest in his poverty stricken town. He began young with his training, alone and in the cold, slowly building his strength and endurance at the age of 13. Never quitting he pushed himself further and further till he decided he would give himself the ultimate test. At the age of 17 he left his parent's house and went north, as far as he could, deep into the wilderness. There he thrived, alone, for one year hunting, trapping, surviving till he was ready to come home. Once back, he moved to St Petersburg and signed up into the Russian Army for a five year contract in 1998. Pulling his weight through numerous deployments and tours for his country as part of a reconnaissance battalion in the 125th motor rifle brigade in the Sixth Army. One time becoming separated with his team in Chechnya he was found a week later still holding position having stayed alive by drinking goats blood, earning him the name Upir. (Vampire in Russian) Vlad was always a favorite among the men, with quick humour and exceptional skill with his accordion he would often be the one to bring his fellow soldiers a smile in tough times. With multiple recommendations from his officers, Vlad joined the GRU in 2005 as a Junior Sgt. after completing a university course in Tactical and Special Training through the Russian University of Spetsnaz. Kusnetsov was chosen to be put into the 700th special purpose detachment after 2 years of training. Early during his time in the GRU, Vlad met his wife Alisa. Falling in love they bought a house after their wedding in 2007 and gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Zoya in 2008. He continued to climb the ranks up to Sergeant in 2009. Chechnya, Georgia, Ukraine and the Middle East are all theaters where he has served over his career in the military, now harder with his new family. With countless operations under his belt he still wanted to focus his training. Against what his wife would have wished, he enlisted into the FSB and he was chosen for CBRN training in 2010. It was for his experience, Sergeant Kusnetsov was promoted to Lt. after going through officer training and assigned to the Central Chernarussian border leading a CBRN battalion during the outbreak in early 2018. Normally a very calculated and collected man, he became unsettled with the way the Russian Government is handling the situation in Chernarus and the acts he had to commit at the border. His family, now having moved to a highly militarized Moscow, has had no contact with Vlad over the recent months. Feeling almost forced, he chose to abandon his post, head south and help any he could to make up for his wrongdoings in the FSB and hopefully find a way to reconnect with his family.
Ethan: Still slightly wary of this man, but overall Vlad has had good impressions of the man. Respecting the pure fact this man keeps the peace.
Skye: Vlad see's her as someone that needs protecting and taking care of but a good soul at the end of the day. He considers her as a friend.
Bobby: A man Vlad has known of for a long time but only met recently. During reports he received at the border, Vlad learned much about the Roses and the Pack. After making his was down into Chernarus, Bobby was one of the first contacts he established. Their's is a relationship of respect, both seeing their capabilities and rough past, willing to work together to achieve a common goal.
Kazamir: Someone Vlad has heard of but knows very little about. He seeks to meet Kazamir and discuss the IRR.
@Kain Special Thanks to this man for help with lore and errors!
