I am Baz Saunders, son of Jed and Emily Saunders. Baz was a somewhat reserved kid. He was born and raised in the Netherlands. Life there was amazing. His mom was always at home. His dad was an officer in the army. In school he was among the somewhat smarter kids. From a very young age, Baz already wanted to be a police officer. sometimes he went fishing with his dad, or they'd go camping in a forest. After he finished his school he went to a police school. He loved it, this is what he had dreamt for his entire life.
After 2 years he graduated and started working for the Dutch police force. He had seen so many things, good but unfortunatley also bad things. But that is part of the job. He was glad that he could help the citizens and always talked to them when he had the chance, while on duty. Summer holidays had arrived in the Netherlands and Baz did not take a lot of days off.
He wanted to go on Holiday for a week or two. He started to google and came across a country named Chernarus. He read an article about the country and got really interested in it. he found out that there has been a civil war in 2009 which destroyed the country's economy and government. A few years after the war was overthe rebuilding was almost done. The beautiful nature of chernarus blew him away, this is it. Baz had decided where to go, it was Chernarus. He was very interested by the country's history and wanted to know more about it and see it himself. And so he did. He booked a ticket and a hotel to stay in and flew off a week later.
He arrived on the 29th of June and was planned to leave Juli the 13th. He arrived on an airfield near to the city named: 'Krashnostav'. After he had left he airfield he took a taxi towards Chernogorsk where he stayed in his hotel for the next two weeks. He went to a tourists information point and made his journey through the region of South Zagoria. He went to multiple city's and villages. He got a map, rented a bike and made trips trough the region. He was warned to stay away from certain forests due to the military bases which were located in some of the Norhtern and Western forests. The nature was so calming, there were lots of forests and sometimes he would come across civilians or other tourists. Baz did not speak Chernarussian at all, but some of them spoke broken English. Most tourists he talked to were like him. They loved the nature and the people who lived here.
He really enjoyed his time there, untill on the 7th of Juli, a couple towns in the north were evacuated by the military for unknown reasons. a couple days later there was a bombardment also somewhere up north. Baz decided it was time to leave before things escalated. All the plane sthat departured were full of people who wanted to leave. Baz could not leave the next couple days, all the planes were overbooked and chaos broke out. Nobody knew exactly what was going on, but they all knew that they should not stay any longer. Other city's and villages were evacuated and every day gunshots and bombs could be heard, every day they came closer. More and more refugees came to the city of Chernogorsk. But what or who were they fighting, i was too curious so I left the hotel and went to the east side of the city. I came across soldiers (apperantly also NATO and UN). who told me to leave the area. I asked them what was going on and they told me there was some sort of an infection going on which made people attack each others.
Again they told me to leave, so I left. I climbed up a roof and i could see civilians wandering in the field, slowly walking towards the gunfire. I could not believe my eyes. They were shooting at them! Every day civilians were told to find a refugee camp and to leave Cherno. So did I, I left Cherno but I was not going to a refugee camp. No, these camps were not refugeecamps. I heard that they were horrible. So i grabbed everything i could from the almost empty hotel. Food, water, a backpack, clothes and I found a pistol to defend myself with. I was planning to help the people who were left behind in the city's and villages, that was my plan! And so he did, Baz left to help the people of Chernarus. He would wander around, scavenging stuff that could help him and others survive. On his own, he left. For a whole new part of his life. In a world he did not know. But soon he will find out in what world he ended up in.
