Before the pandemic, Austin was a Constable in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stationed in Iqaluit, Nunavut. He was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. He was on vacation in Nyheim when the pandemic hit, causing him to isolate in a hotel there. Austin is trained in firearms handling, and has basic first aid and CPR certifications. He's also known back home for his excellent cooking abilities. His father took him hunting and fishing when he was younger and taught him how to harvest animals and fish. He was also taught how to sew clothing and clean weapons by his father.
