An ethnic Chernarussian through-and-through. He had a short lived career in the CDF, only lasting about 9 months. He saw the corruption, as many of his country men did, in the politics of Chernarus. And with the CDF backing out of the region when the Chedaki took control, he could not stand by and watch it happened. He abandoned post, joining his countrymen in NAPA to fight off not only the communist dogs, but also the foreign Russians who sought to take land, and the NATO forces who came to enforce their imperialistic idea of freedom. He fought in NAPA for the the entirety of the civil war, even being involved in many assassinations of Chedaki officers, earning himself the nicknames 'The Hound of Chernarus'. He was one of the few NAPA members that raided Stary Sobor and assassinated the Chedaki officers, liberating the central region of South Zagoria.
During the civil war, he had been in associations with Prizrak, the leader of the NAPA forces. He and Prizrak were friends on first name basis, Mikhail being a great fighter, and Prizrak knew that. So the day Prizrak decided to not unify with Chernarus once again, Mikhail knew... he had to remove Prizrak. He was a great leader, and an even better idealist. But he was too extreme for the greater good of the country.. Mikhail saw this.. and helped organize the assassination of Prizrak.. It hurt, killing a friend- and his commander.. but it had to be done.
Mikhail never tried to take glory from his times in the war, and definitely for being involved with the assassination of a friend. He laid low, went back to Sinistok where he was born and raised.. and decided to just go and live life the best he could.
Mikhail during the Chernarussian Civil War
Mikhail was deemed a war hero, of course being deemed a terrorist first due to his affiliation with the NAPA extremist. He didn't care- he knew what was right. He was quick to be deemed a hero by his fellow countrymen and the Kozlov administration after word of the Prizrak assassination. His country and leaders recognized how much he cared for his country- no greed from him, all for his country...
After the outbreak, he rounded up all able-bodied volunteers of the town of Sinistok, and made a pilgrimage to Miroslav, where these volunteers left their families in safety before heading back out to Sinistok, in case of any Russian invasion forces that may of came through the Tissy valley. Amongst these men were some of his brothers in the civil war, but most were just neighbors and good friends willing to pick up a weapon in defense of their country. He trained these fellow countrymen and women everything he had learned in the art of Guerilla warfare. He doing his best to train these Chernarussians in order to survive the hell that South Zagoria has become.
After months of fighting in South Zagoria, killing the terrorist that caused the Miroslavl gas attacks, he was wounded in a firefight. Being carried back to a hospital in Miroslavl where he was treated for a GSW on his upper left shoulder. He lost contact with his boys, they back in South Zagoria whilst he sat in his government given apartment with his daughter. Recovering until once again, being met with Dusan and ending up back in South Zagoria, defending his birthright once more from the impeding Russian threat.
