Background
Egon was born in San Diego, California in January, 1995 to two loving parents Richard and Wilhelmine, who were both academics in the legal field. Inspired by his parents accomplishments, Egon wanted to become a lawyer himself, learning more and hopefully eventually mastering the law himself. Egon’s education was not always smooth sailing as he had several close calls that could have potentially ended his career as a lawyer, namely occasions where he missed test days or fucked up important presentations. However, after several years of study, Egon finally got his Juris Doctor from San Diego State University, graduating in the upper half of his class.
This, of course, was only the beginning of Egon’s law career. Egon would take odd jobs as he interned and studied under other lawyers while he prepared for the bar exam, only to fail it his first time. Rather than being discouraged, this only made Egon more determined to pass and he studied harder and would even study while working, using any free moment to get better. This, however, did not give immediate results for Egon, as he failed the bar exam 4 more times before finally passing it. Following his eventual success, Egon received an offer letter from one of the attorneys he worked for and took it up immediately.
Although he was very studious and excelled at research, Egon wasn’t the greatest at litigation and so he took up the position of research attorney at his newest firm, which was little better than ambulance chasers, primarily focusing on personal injury suits and taking up cases for the San Diego public defender’s office. Over time, this type of law really bored Egon and he wanted to look for something different where he could actually make a difference. It was at this moment he recalled another lawyer he worked for that specialized in international law and immigration, something that Egon felt may suit him even better.
After getting in contact with this character, named Jack, Egon started shadowing him and working with him when he had more free time until Jack was far more confident in Egon’s capabilities and knowledge of immigration law. Egon spent several years working with this firm, expanding his knowledge and acquiring different and new skills to help him best serve his clients that were immigrating to and from the United States. Through his work, Egon would frequently find himself traveling to different countries to meet with clients or visit US Embassies, doing the legwork for the firm to best serve the clients that were in need.
However, it was during one of these visits while in Norway that Egon found himself trapped in quarantine after quarantine after the outbreak began. The panic and chaos ensued, with Egon being left basically useless as non-emergency personnel. Without a reliable way to get back to the United States, Egon began trying to meet more people in Norway to try and build his own network of friends, with which he could hopefully get himself out of Norway to somewhere he hoped would be far safer. Though his skills as an attorney may not serve him well during this outbreak, it may be vital during the inevitable reconstruction of the society that they once had. Egon, knowing this fact, found it incredibly important for him to maintain what knowledge he could, keeping books and papers safe and valuing them above some things that he probably should have valued a bit more.
