Born in East Germany Paul spent much of his life thieving and lying to get by. When he wasn't stealing food he was stealing information. Act like a beggar on the court's steps and you here lawyers talking about high priority cases while they give you a mark or two. He found that information was worth more than gold, and empires teetered on the edge of information's power. At the age of fourteen he found such a good slice of information the he was smuggled out of East Germany by American spies. Once he spilled the beans he was setup to be an East German orphan, put at the top of the adoption list. Within a month he was adopted by an old married couple, they had always wanted children but due to the husbands injuries during WW2 he was unable to father any. Four years of pure happiness was his reward for spying on the Soviet Union. When he turned eighteen his father pushed him into joining the US Army. Although when he joined he had little enjoyment in fighting for this country, he fought fourteen years to get here, wasn't that enough? He soon found that the US Military had a different use for him, Special Operations. Directly after boot camp he was deployed into Russian puppet states, even Chernarus. He didn't go in guns blazing anywhere, instead he walked the streets, strangled officials, listened to lawyers, and managed guerilla warfare. Paul was a good spy, he liked to think the fall of Soviet Russia was due to his efforts, just drops of water in a pond. After Soviet Russia fell he had lots of clean up jobs, kill some politicians here, break up communist sympathizers there, and even blow a few statues up. Coming out of the military, age 24, he went straight into school, for his work he had a full ride wherever and whenever. He spent the next nine years studying infectious diseases, becoming a doctor, and due to his skills and past joined the CDC. One might wonder why he'd become a doctor when he many more and easier options, he always responded the same,"Everywhere I went I saw people dying, not by guns, not by knives, not by clubs, starvation and disease. You starve because there's no crops, and you get sick because what little food you have is rotten. Never the children.... never. I'll strangle the life out of a woman and beat a man to death with a rock, but seeing children die slowly, it breaks me, never again." He spent many years going from country to country, resisting the urge to bash the heads in of corrupt and fat politicians. He likes to think he saved plenty of people but the world is dark and unforgiving, more died in his arms than saved by his hands. When he got word that Chernarus might be going to war with Russia he was the first to step up to get on the helicopter, war created starvation and death, but he was stopped by an old friend of his, one he met a long time ago, during the fall of the Soviets. His friend had gotten word that the Russians were hiding something, possibly a chemical or organic weapon, his friend asked if he was willing to go into Chernarus, in deep cover. "Just like the good ole days, when we fought the commies." There were no good ole days for Paul, but he said yes anyways. Paul's assignment was to pose as a fresh CDF private at Balota Airfield, find information, kill threats, and move towards initial Russian bombing areas. He spent a week there and found that it was much worse than just chemical weapon. Patrols didn't return, limbless people attacked the outposts, and undead children were shot on sight. Eventually Paul snapped when he found a pile of children and women being burnt to ensure they were dead. All throughout the night he smothered officers, strangled guards, and stabbed doctors. When he left he had killed just over two dozen personnel, looking back he realized this was the end or the beginning of the a new age.
