His story begins boarding the cruise ship to one of those tropical islands you see in those cheesy brochures. He decided to attend this trip with his girlfriend who told him he needed to relieve some stress from his work life. For the past month, Tyler has been staying up till the early hours of the morning plugging data into spreadsheets. The little sleep was taking a toll on his life and causing his girlfriend, Vanessa, to worry greatly.
On the day of their boarding, Tyler and his companion were feeling up in spirits because they were about to attend the vacation of their lives, or so they thought. Everything was going well for the first week on the cruise, they were spending time at the pool, having fancy dinners, attending ship activities, and spending a lot of time with one another. All good things must come to an end. One morning as they were relaxing on the deck, Tyler saw a large storm approaching from the distance but thought nothing of it because he believed it would pass, but he was wrong. That night, his world was about to turn upside down. He remembers waking up, shaking his girlfriend because he felt the ship rocking violently back and forth and knew this was not good. Minutes later the ship's alarm sounded and chaos struck the entire ship. People yelling for loved ones, children crying for their parents it was a terrible nightmare. When he finally came to his senses in the hall he just remembers a loud bang and everything went dark. He awoke, an unrecognizable amount of time had passed, and he felt very groggy. Next, to him, he saw something no man would want to, his girlfriend lying unresponsive on the ground next to him.
After trying to revive her, he brought her body to the deck to survey the scene. When he reached the top he just found loads of dead bodies and no one living in sight. Seeing they were crashed he decided to get down to the shore and bury his girlfriend by a beautiful grove of trees he found.
After the burial, he made sure he handgun was armed at his side and he began walking inland to try to find aid for his current predicament.
