Barry Spink is a 39-year-old photographer for the Daily Mail who enjoys relaxing, camping and chess. He is inspiring and bright, but can also be very standoffish and a bit untidy. He was on an assignment in Norway when all borders were closed and travel restricted 

He is English who defines himself as straight. He has a degree in philosophy, politics and economics. He has a severe phobia of the unknown 

Physically, Barry is in pretty good shape. He is average-height with olive skin, brown hair and blue eyes. 

He grew up in a working class neighbourhood. After his father died when he was young, he was raised by his mother 

Barry's best friend is a journalist called Jamie Gordon who as killed by a driver trying to escape the city. They are inseparable.  

Now alone, Barry is trying to understand his situation and work out a way to get home.
