As the eldest child of a family of four Alan led a typical American childhood getting into just the right amount of trouble and looking out for his younger sister, Sarah. Despite being a good kid, Alan struggled with his academics and self-discipline, leading to enlistment in the US army as an infantryman just prior to the outbreak of the 2003 war on terror. Following basic training at Fort Bragg NC Alan was deployed to Iraq, and later two tours in Afghanistan. After 8 years of service, Alan ‘Bigs’ Bigsby received an honorable discharge along with a healthy dose of PTSD courtesy of the United States government and Taliban fighters. After a decade of struggling to find his purpose in civilian society, Bigs decided to participate in an international-aide mission to the northern part of Norway following the outbreak of the pandemic. When shit hit the fan in Oslo, the world was in shock. Despite the horror of the situation, Bigs’ training kicked in and he found himself right back in the sandbox, albeit with a lot more trees this time…
