Background
William was raised into a working family, his father owning a local fishery at the eastern coast of Chernarus. Part of the Koskela family had called this home for a few generations and a legacy was beginning to be shaped. When William was twenty years old, the ownership of the fishery shifted from his father to his step-brother, creating a divide in the family. William had been too distant, said his father, to inherit the fishery. He took this to mean that his step-brother was his fathers "son-that-he-never-had" and took great offense.
To redeem himself, he moved into the family house, working hard hours to rekindle the father-son connection, never quite managing to make his father proud. The infection made this all the more difficult. William saw himself become more and more inhuman. He stole, he broke into houses, even violently robbed, just to feed his family. In a stroke of leider geil, his step-brother passed away from the infection, forcing his father to entrust William with the ownership of the now trouble-ridden household.
As William returned home, one cold November night, the sky lit up with flames and sparks from the house he had grown up in. He heard screams, ungodly, inhuman screams, and he ran. Saving himself first and foremost, yet again, leaving his family when they needed him the most. Now he roams, alone, guilt-ridden for his actions. Trying to redeem himself.
