Background

Born out in the sticks and hollers of rural Kentucky your kinda put into a world that about 30 Years older than the modern day. There isn't much to do other that work in the coal mines, drink and set around on the porch. We had a lil old radio but only got about 3 or 4 different stations on it. So I grew up listening to Hank William Sr and Jr, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard. Hearing and seeing the joy and emotions that their music gave everyone around town easily gave me my goal and dream in life to become a music artist. Found a old guitar in the shed that used to be my granddad's ol picker, so I cleaned her up a little bit and started stringing and not knowing what the hell I was doin or really how I sounded but dammit I was having fun.

After stringing a few weeks the old strings on the guitar started to break and I need some new ones, so I went into town and had to order some from the catalog in the general store and wait. Well, on the way back home I met Ricky... A old timer I thought that was just a useless drunk and didn't know shit... Man... Did her prove me wrong. As I walked past his home I could just hear someone plucking and singing with a hell of a good tune. So as any clearly normal person would I went up and knocked on his front door. He answered same as always and I asked if he be the one that was playing in there and he responded with " What the hell do you think." I asked him if he would be willing to teach and he just looked absolutely flabbergasted, but he said yes. So the it began and trained with him for months and months until I went off to college and that's where musical talent came in very handy with the ladies and making a few bucks here and there.
