Originally his family originated from eastern Europe, however, a decision in the 1990s was made by his family to relocate permanently to a remote corner of Norway. During early childhood, Helmut was living in Nyvoll. Eventually, he graduated from the university and acquired a bachelor's in philology and computer science.

As part of his hobbies, he has been learning software development, and on top of that, a number of other languages were acquired during his studies. These skills later proved to be very demanded in the military and he applied for a position within NATO. As the years passed NATO began to cave in on itself, as a result, and he was discharged from the service without any explanations.

Helmuts returned to Nyvoll in May 2021. Applied for work as a truck driver, when one day, his employer assigned him a task, to pick up a truck equipped with what seemed like a street disinfector, everyone within the company had to sign an NDA the same day - it was September 14th, 2021. According to documents, this was a standard routine for pavement and street sanitation. Protective masks had to be worn.

In the coming days, complete chaos broke out on the streets and Helmut was seeking refuge outside the populated areas. The situation degraded rapidly, and some of the infrastructure facilities were still functional, however, in order to survive, he was now faced with new challenges and learned to live off the land and improvise. His next task was to contact any survivors, if there were any, and try to make sense of the situation.
