Background

Winter was born in Oslo Norway, into a family who was not quite ready for her yet, so she was adopted out to her distant relatives in the United States, who could not have a family of their own. She grew up to become a reserved, quiet, and curious person. She's always done things that her parents expected her to, and was a good daughter for the majority of her life. Winter was always aware she was adopted, her parents made sure she had all the information they had and that she knew they loved her just the same if not more despite not being her biological parents.

Winter went on to go to a good college in the city of Chicago, and earn a degree in criminal investigation. With this she lead a short but rewarding career solving mysteries and crimes for Chicago Police Department and giving families answers they may or may not have wanted to know. This line of work only made her more cirous about her own biological past and who who her parents were, what they were like, or if they knew about her and how she grew up. She always wondered why they never reached out or if they wanted anything to do with her now. While she loves her parents who raised her, she still wants to know where she came from as well. So she booked a one way ticket to Norway to go and find out for herself.

She took a 2 month leave of absense from her job in Chicago, and hopped on a plane to Oslo hopefull she would find the answers she was looking for. This was her first time on a plane and she was nervous but did it anyways. Upon their arrival into the airways of Norway in late September, the pilot made an annoucement that no passenger was expecting. He told them they were making an emergency landing in Nyheim as directed by Norwegian Military Forces to avoide Oslo at all costs. This made her nervous but she is a trained Law Enforcement Officer so she remained calm for herself and everyone around her.

Once they landed, all passengers were informed that cases of AVM-FLA-19 had broken out in Norway, and that they would be spending some time there in lockdown in attempt to isolate the current cases. All passengers including Winter were placed in a hotel with their belongings in efforts to make them feel more comfortable in their temporary surroundings. Days turned into weeks, and no word on when or if they would be going home or carrying onto their final destination.

One morning in late October, after being in this hotel for weeks without any information whts so ever, a dense fog covered the city, and they heard erie sirens sound. A full outbreak had happened in the city of Nyhiem and a state of emergency was now in effect. There was chaos and everyone started to panic, then they realised that the hotel and the part of town they were in was being overrun by zombies. Clutching onto the only belongings she could carry, she made sure to find a photo of her parents and a notebook with all her biological families information in it, and quickly make it out of the chaos before she was lost to the infestation.

Running through the city and into a clearing of land at the edge, she has stopped to look behind her, only seeing chaos and loss of life behind her. She is now holding onto the hope that her parents are ok in Chicago, and that she survives this pandemic long enough to find what she came here for.
