Paul didn't have much structure growing up. Poor parents with drug problems lead him to falling into the wrong crowds. For the first ten years of his life, he ran with gangs, jacking cars and hurting whomever got in his way.

Or even looked at him funny.

As it always does, the law caught up with Paul, and he was sent to Northern State Prison to atone for his crimes. While inside, he was assigned to kitchen duties to pay off his debts, and found that he enjoyed this more than his last line of work, even if it was just serving slop.

Paul did his time and emerged a new man, his goal was to open a restaurant where he was in charge of the menu. With nowhere to stay, some relatives in Chernarus offered him a room and a place to practice his craft.
