Vaden was born in Venice Beach CA where he lived a very comfortable childhood. As a child he became obsessed with James Bond films and sought to follow in the footsteps of his hero.
After high school, he went on to study International Affairs at UCLA, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
Shortly thereafter, he was accepted to the Federal Law Enforcement Agency Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia to train to become a CIA Agent.
After becoming a Special Agent in the CIA, Vaden was tasked to a unit of agents that specialized in the affairs of eastern Europe, specifically Russia, and surrounding ex. Soviet countries.
In 2017, Vaden was deployed to Russia to investigate a potential biological weapons threat and spent the next year in deep cover tracking various players in the Kremlin.
During the time of his investigation, he became increasingly suspicious of his mission, as the information he had retrieved led him to believe that he was on the trail of the wrong people. He attempted to convey this information to his supervisors, and was quickly told to stay on the mission despite his uncertainty.
Vaden realized the only way he was going to get out the mission would be to disappear entirely. He then fled into the northeastern region of Georgia, where he posed as a travelling journalist.
In June of 2020, Vaden received a message from an old contact in Russia informing him that the CIA knew his location and were sending operatives to retrieve him. He was informed to make his way to Chernarus to be extracted to safety. This would unfortunately be a much more difficult task now that the outbreak was in full swing, but he knew it was his only option to make it out alive.
He found a fisherman willing to stow him away on his boat and deliver him to Chernarus. However, during the voyage, the fishing boat was stopped by Russian soldiers, and the fisherman was intimidated into revealing his hidden cargo.
Vaden and the fisherman were both arrested, and Vaden was sent to a nearby russian outpost where he was imprisoned for some time.
During his imprisonment, the outpost became overrun with infected, and a prison guard who was attempting to escape decided to unlock the cell and let Vaden free.
He managed to sneak away from the compound and found a beaten up paddle boat on a nearby coast. With a stolen map from the prison in hand, he began making his way to Chernarus, with hopes that it wasn't to late to get away from the CIA and the outbreak.
