Mikhalev Roman was born alongside his twin brother during the last year of the Soviet Union in the city of Severograd in the Chernarus-Oblast. His Brother named Adrik died soon after birth. Mikhalevs family took the death of Adrik with a heavy heart. It didn't take long after the burial for the grief to consume Mikhalevs father and in his drunken state the blame was put on Mikhalev for depriving his brother of his life force. Mikhalevs Father gradually turned in to a drunk and abused Mikhalev and his mother on a daily basis.

The family lived on a farm passed down from several generations just to the east of Krasnoe. The early years of Mikhalevs life was extra tough since after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the formation of the Independent Chernarussian Republic ethnic tensions against his family was at an all time high. Several shops refused to buy the bread and milk the family was producing since it was believed the family had been cursed and that buying the goods produced would only taint the buyers with Russian filth. This led the family living in poverty for some time, only further sending Mikhalevs father down the rabbit hole of drunken rabbles and abusive tendencies.

With the start of the civil war Mikhalevs father although briefly got his act together as he finally saw a way to get revenge on the Chernarussian people who he blamed all of his troubles for. He joined the ChDKZ and actively pushed for his son Mikhalev to join as well, telling him that if he did not join the ChDKZ and fought for his family honor he would be disavowed and marked as a CDF informant by his father. Mikhalev reluctantly agreed to join the ChDKZ soon after.

During the war Mikhalev came to adopt his fathers beliefs of Russian supremacy over the Chernarussian people and quickly became radicalized in the wartime environment he found himself in. During the Battle of the Pit (Kirovograd) an artillery shell hit the building the forward operating base that Mikhalev and his father was stationed in. It didn't take long for the building to collapse. Mikhalev woke up weeks later in a hospital bed learning that his father had died in the rubble and that after the capture of the government forces the liberation war was over.

Mikhalev was awarded the medal of Lopotev for his bravery, selflessness and personal courage in fighting for the protection of the Fatherland.

Mikhalevs father was also posthumously awarded the medal of Lopotev and the Order of Courage for his bold and decisive actions committed in his performance of military duty under conditions involving a risk to life.

When Mikhalev came home after the war he was shocked to find that the family farm had been partially burnt down and his mother nowhere to be seen. After searching the rubble he found his mother body along with a suicide note. It appeared that his mother after being informed of the death of his father and Mikhalevs hospitalization she that Mikhalev would not recover from his injuries and subsequently decided to take her own life. Mikhalev, after now experiencing the death of his entire family and the destruction of their property and the horrors of war slowly succumbed to insanity as he secluded himself in the burnt down farm. He started hearing voices telling him about how the end is near and that all attempts to stop it is pointless and that it is best to embrace darkness and sorrow. The voices kept following him everywhere he went, and he listened to them for guidance. Mikhalev believed that it was the voices of chaos gods living inside of his body that needed to be worshiped.

Mikhalev, after following the instructions of the gods dug up his mother grave and ate what little dried up flesh and skin that was left on it. It was told that this act would secure and protect his bloodline in to the next era to come. This act made Mikhalev very sick but in what he thought was his final moments of life he saw it, and it was wonderful! Mikhalev was now no longer a mere feeble human, he had been reborn in to a true vessel of the gods. After the recovery of his body he spent most of his time preaching on the streets of Severograd about the end times and the glory of the gods that remade him.

Naturally everyone in the city only laughed at him, calling him hysteric and insane, throwing rotten food at him. But rotten food was not an insult to Mikhalev, since rot was a sign of dead matter changing, just how he changed after eating his dead mother. Over time, he became a regular sight in Severograd with people getting used to his ramblings, living on the street and kids poking him with sticks. He became quite the local legend and with his long unkept beard and dirty looking appearance people started calling him Rasputin after the Russian Mystic, a name Mikhalev disliked very much.

Mikhalev gradually noticed things on the street, shops where starting to close down, people couldn't leave the city due to military roadblocks and unemployment soared through the roof. No one knew why and what was going on, fear was starting to spread in the populace and people wanted answers. Mikhalevs ramblings about doom was now suddenly not so crazy after all. After a while rumors started to spread about infected people attacking and even sometimes eating other people. Mikhalev knew this must be the workings of the gods he had been listening to all this time. The scared populace came one by one to Mikhalev for answers, some even started to believe him and spread his message throughout the city.

After martial law was enacted Mikhalev knew it was only a matter of time before the policemen and soldiers would arrest him for spreading fear and paranoia. He fled the city during the night with a handful of his most trusted acolytes never to be seen again.
