Vadim was born in Novigrad with two Chernarussian parents and an older brother, he started working as a young child while also going to school because of the family being tight on money. They couldn’t afford that much if not all of them worked. After some years Vadim got word that his mother is carrying yet another brother for the Volkov family. Throughout the years up until the civil war started, Vadim and his younger brother Anatoly watched his older brother and father join the war with the ChDKZ. Every time their father or brother came home they would hear about what they’ve done, what they fight for and why they fight for it.
Towards the ending of the civil war the two brother got news that their father was alive and well, but that their oldest brother had died in battle. This did not only hurt the brothers but gave them motivation to join the army themselves to honor their brother, and honor what their brother fought for. Vadim went in first at the age of 18 where he was let in because they saw Vadim as a motivated individual. So they let him go to officer school where he trained for some time. As time passed his younger brother Anatoly also joined up, but he was not given the same chance as Vadim. Anatoly was trained to join the rank “Serzhánt”.
After Vadim graduated he was given the rank Leytenánt. He was assigned to the 34th Infantry Battalion Bear Company, under the leadership of Stárshiy Leytenánt Bata Kuchanek. Vadim’s younger brother Anatoly later joined the same Battalion as they as brothers had requested to be in the same Battalion. As some time passed they were stationed in the region of South Zagoria in a command post just south of Vybor.
After some events he didn't agree with, he deserted the RAC and his lieutenant position within the RAC.
