Joshua Lee Hartmann was born in Adelaide, Australia, on the 27th of August 1995. A disinterested student in school, he nevertheless graduated high school in 2012 and thereafter attended Flinders University, graduating with a degree in Paramedical Science in 2015. In January 2020, Josh found himself stranded in Chernarus during a layover on a flight during the most recent outbreak of the Frenzied Flu. He decided to offer what help he could to the government medical teams attempting to contain the spread of the virus. As the situation deteriorated over the next few months, Josh volunteered to be sent on missions beyond the confines of the quarantine zone - he would be part of a team sent to search for supplies and survivors. During one mission in late June, the patrol he was with were blindsided and swarmed by a horde of the infected, scattering the team. Barely making it out of the town alive, Josh realized the precariousness of his situation - so long as he was isolated and ill-equipped, he would be easy prey for the infected or roaming gangs of bandits. While alone and separated from civilization, Joshua is nevertheless determined to survive, no matter what the cost.
