A Marine Biologist temporarily living in Chernarus. She rented a condo in the city of Chernogorsk, where she would go to the docks every day and launch to the sea where she could study, and hopefully preserve endangered sharks and other aquatic life just outside the country. She grew up in Springfield, Illinois, going to high school, then community college to fix her somewhat meager grades. After improving her school grades she went to Harvard after a long studious trial and error navigating through the academic world. She had gotten a Master's in Biology which lead her to where she was now, the middle of Chernarus on an expedition with a scientific team working for an American company to preserve the local fauna of the ocean. Her partner, Sam Chen. During the outbreak her partner Sam saved her life when an infected fell on top of her as they were running from downtown Chernogorsk. Sam flipped the infected over, getting bit in the process. They proceeded to safely get out of the city, however, it was too late for Sam. Sam, becoming pale and sickly, with bouts of unexplained rage attacked her. The knife in her boot she had managed to pick up during the evacuation would be the object to end her lover's life. Tragically, Sam lay there, bleeding on the floor, a knife in his head, Emika sobbing at the loss of her partner. Eventually it was time to go, so she picked up the knife and kept moving, to the town, and then the next, and next. For weeks she did this, surviving, but just barely.
A short while after meeting a group of survivors, Nick, Wes, and Jonathan she brought the idea up to Nick about making a Commune. A place where civilians could find refuge in this war torn apocalypse. So they set out to make The Commune. However, a short while after being split up from Nick and the gang, she met Jack, the defacto leader of the Praetorian Guard. They had seemed like a good enough group so she convinced Nick to bring the group over and hold talks. Everything was going well and we had merged groups together, yet this didn't last. One day in Nova Roma while we were building the walls, just having finished the last rampart, the Wolfpack attacked us unprovoked. The only two survivors to come out were Emika and Wes. This set off a long series of events after the fall of Nova Roma, the construction of The Citadel, joining the Praetorian Guard full time as a combat medic. She was trained in the art of warfare after weeks of rigorous training with Goose, her Centurion. Eventually she became an Optio, the Centurion's right hand man (gal?). An Optio would be the equivalent to an NCO or non-commissioned officer.
Over the span of several months, Emika and the Guard had done numerous operations within South Zagoria. Eventually most bandit groups were disbanded and the territories were somewhat peaceful, the Guard also had a treaty with the 503, which.. sadly, was broken by the Guard making contingency plans in case a war had popped up, which it did. The land was now at war, for two days, bloody battle after bloody battle at The Citadel, the Guard was forced to ex filtrate the area as stealthily as possible while a little contingent stayed behind to look after The Citadel. Emika was part of this contingent, she had stayed to look after an injured Guard soldier. It was at this point when the 503 stumbled up to disassemble the walls and use the rest of the supplies for their own. Their leader, CJ had talked to Emika, forcing her into captivity and once back at the airfield, forced her to marry Garreth Jones, a respected 503 member. She is not happy with the situation to say the least, but hopefully, in time, she'll be able to make a daring escape to get back to her family in the Guard.
