The zombie apocalypse was the best thing that ever happened to Lafayette Rochambeau. The son of a wealthy real estate mogul, Laf was determined as a young young man to escape the shadow of his father and forge his own path. He loved people, not business, and saw how his father mistreated their tenants. Spurning his father's desires to run the family business, Laf set off across across the world, seeking out new cultures and his purpose in life. He quickly ran out of money, but refused to go back and beg his father, so he turned to small crimes to survive.
His ability to make quick friends served him well with other small time thieves. But while stowing away in a cargo vessel on the black sea, there was a loud scuffle among the crew. The captain had gone mad and attempted to bite his first mate. Chaos ensued. Terrified of being discovered and shot, Laf jumped overboard with nothing but life jacket, washing up on the shores of a harsh and unfamiliar land....
The local population had begun going mad with the same disease as the captain. The military had taken over, but was quickly losing control. Laf stuck to the farmland to avoid being found....through the evacuation....through the bombings....
But then a wonderful, incredible thing happened. Laf and met other outcasts. They helped each other. Not for money, but to survive.
Freed from the shackles of societal responsibilities like work, rent, and showering, 'Laf' finally discovered his true passion... making friends with everyone in Chernarus.
The truth is that Laf never met a man or woman he didn't like. There's a whole big world of people out there, and strangers are just the ones you haven't met yet. Whether you're a bloke on the street or a bandit holding him up at gunpoint, he'll do his best to win you over.
He'll occasionally be found humming a tune to himself, and if want a good clean joke, he'll have one at the ready for you.
And of course, his greatest destiny is to find Mrs. Lafayette. She's out there somewhere (even though they haven't met yet). She may be skinny or fat or tall or short, but hopefully not a zombie (But it's not a deal-breaker... when she's the one, she's the one, you know?)
He also has the ability to speak to animals (unfortunately they don't speak back).
