Halfdan Rurik, Alias, Rurik, Ryurik or General Hrurik to the communist party of Chernarus, was born in Danmark, Skandinavia in 1977 to a poor family. He was raised with strong morals by loving parents.
When his parents died in a young age of thirteen, he was found on the streets by a local gang who took care of him and taught him how to survive.
Then at the age of 17 he was enlisted into the Danish army, seeking to become an infantryman with later sight of becoming a part of the special forces.
He was denied military service, due to the fact that the military deemed him Dangerous.
Rurik feeling wronged by his government, retired from what he saw as a modernized world, and choose to exile and live by himself for many years.
In his mid to late twenties, Rurik decided to teach his father's tongue, and began to study the language of the Russians, to a degree where he would slightly understand and speak it.
He then moved to Russia with renewed hopes to become a part of the Russian military, but to his regrets, he was denied.
Shortly after he was recruited by a government officially funded military Special forces department (Created during the USSR, and disbanded after the rise of the Russian Federation.) going by the name of витязь ''Vityaz'' (Russian meaning for 'Knight')
Rurik now known as Ryurik to the Russians, proved his worth and earned a reputation, during military operations in Takistan.
Ryurik earned the rank of Captain and was sent on a special operation to infiltrate and destroy a Communist uprising in the west of Chernarus bordering Takistan.
He failed the mission, loosing his squad and was captured by the communists.
After years of captivity, and no relations to the outside world, who believed him to be dead.
The Communist leader during Ryurik's captivity began to work on Ryurik, sharing his idea's of a better a world with 'Whongcism'.
After getting to know Ryurik, the Communist grew fond of him, he then offered Ryurik a chance to become free if he would help the Communist leader to retake back the country under communist influence and with the laws of Whongcism.
Ryurik agreed, and he is now known as General Hrurik.
