Kozak Yashkin was born in Australia, NSW, on the 19th of March 1994. He was an only child and his mother Anya Yashkin was a single parent, since Kozak's Father left when Kozak was only a few years old. Kozak grew up in the Suburb of Karabar. After he turned 18 he worked as an apprentice Mechanic, and his life carried on uneventfully. It was a boring lifestyle, he felt as if he was walking in a straight line, he wanted to get out there, find a career he could enjoy and explore the world, he was young and full of energy. It seemed that life had it's own plans for Kozak, as his Mother explained to him that she was headed back to her birthplace, where her family still lived. Kozak decided to come with her, instead of moving out and continuing his uneventful, and ultimately boring lifestyle. He got a passport and boarded a plane with Anya that went to Miroslavl, when they arrived they drove through the country and Kozak looked in wonder at how beautiful his Mothers country was. And once they'd finally gotten to Chernogorsk, Kozak met his Grandparents for the first time.

Kozak lived in Staroye, along with his partner, she owned a small shop in town, and Kozak learned how to hunt in his few years in Chernarus, and sold meat to butchers and markets. During the years he spent in Chernarus, he'd come to find out about his Half-Brother Niko, which Kozak's mother had left when he was just a baby, alone with her ex Husband. He was shocked at first, but after meeting his Brother, they quickly became the best of friends, and their parents had gotten back together, Kozak finally had a father figure in his life, and a caring brother he never knew he had. Kozak often wondered if he had chose the life of a wanderer, trying new things, and had taken a different route, but he was happy where he was, he was glad that he had family, that's all that mattered to him.

Kozak sat in silence, his eyes falling to his Brothers gaze, a saddened look in his eyes forced him to turn away, instead staring into the trees surrounding them in the woods, they were alone, completely alone, in the woods, without any hope in the world, they had nothing anymore. Finally, Kozak managed to turn his face towards Niko, too ashamed to look him in the eyes, and he spoke "We'd better get moving soon, best we find somewhere to bunker down before it gets dark". His Brother blinked a few times, and seemed to stare off into space; "Yeah, let's do that." They packed up their bags and walked in silence towards the nearest rural town, a single tear fell down Kozak's cheek.
