Mark Dylan is a former Green Beret captain tasked by the State Department to assess the situation in Chernarus and report back with important intelligence. The US Government has an interest in the z-virus and has tasked Mark with collecting samples to bring back to the US for research. Mark has also been tasked with identifying the key factions of the region, identifying their commanders, and determining if they are potential allies/enemies to the US government. Mark's insertion helicopter was damaged upon landing and the pilot is dead. He will have to find his own way back home if he wants to live through this.
Mark has experience with survival techniques, small arms training, experience with diplomatic relations, and has led men in combat in Africa. His weaknesses lie in that he has a pregnant wife waiting for him back in Texas. While the mission comes first, Mark will do everything he can to make sure he gets home in time to see his child born.
It has been two years since Mark has gotten to this godless country, and although he has not heard from his wife, she haunts his thoughts every day. Although the US Government has probably forsaken him, he is determined to complete his mission. Trekking across the country on a quest to identify the key players in the region and gathering data on the virus is what drives him every day. Hopefully he can be an ambassador for these survivors and get them to work together to establish a new, stable government in the region. This place needs diplomatic, rational men, and Mark intents to fill that role for these people.
