Andy was born in Iowa City to an upper middleclass family comprised of an American father and Romanian mother. He was raised in the middle of Iowa and always got what he wanted as he was a single child. Growing up Andy was a very social, he always had friends when he needed them and never went through a full day on his own. While maturing, Andy realised that his calling was the army and not college like he initially thought. He dropped out of school to pursue his dream and at the age of 17 and enlisted.
After finishing BCT, Andy moved to 11X as an infantryman and quickly made himself known for his charismatic presence. Shortly after his first tour he found out that his Mom and Dad were both involved in a car crash and did not make it to hospital in time to be treated. Andy fell into a deep depression and lost everything he had worked so hard for. He ended up getting discharged from his unit as we has not able to move or talk most days. It took him several years to get over it, time during which he spent with his grandmother.
After he had finally gotten over it, Andy decided that it was time to improve his life and started working out again, taking firearms classes and improving his mental health. After overcoming his illness completely, he used one of his old friends to get in to private contracting. He quickly realised he was very stupid for taking on the job. The pay was bad most of the time, the heat was unbareable, and all he did was get shot at by 12 year old children, who he couldn't shoot back at because he would get prosecuted in court. After completing his first 3 year contract, he retired and went back to his home town. Struggling with an alcohol addiction and homelessness, Andy had a tough time reintegrating back into society. Throughout his time contracting he had made 1 close friend who he constantly tried to keep in contact with while back in the US.
Andy's close friend moved to Iowa for a small while and helped him get on his feet, together they worked on his CV and social skills, building them up again and started applying for jobs. Andy never got past the interviews despite getting help from the VA. After a few months of getting nowhere, Andy discovered black rifle coffee while on the computers at the library, he heard that they were looking for veterans to work for them and he quickly seized the opportunity to apply. Within the next few months, Andy had been accepted into black rifle coffee company and got help getting back on track and learning how to make propper coffee.
Andy loved the art of coffee making and brewing, he dedicated hours out of his day for the sole purpose of learning how to up his game, he watched countless tutorials and seeked help from everyone, asking them the important questions like "Is this the right way to steam milk for a latte". Over the next few years, he constantly kept improving on his skills and finding his charismatic side again, he started to open up more to the guys at the coffee shop and in turn started building relationships again.
During his time at the coffee shop, Andy kept refining his firearms skills as he was a firm believer in his 2nd amendment rights and feared a government takeover. It was during this time that he had saved enough money to go on a holiday for the first time in his life, he saw really good value deals for chernarus. Andy started to research the country and found that tourism had dipped since the country was under conflict, this didn't deter him, he knew how to deal with hositle people and saw it as a new experience.
Andy flew to Chernarus and within a week he had gotten into conflicts with the locals and lost everything he had to thieves raiding his hotel room. Because of this he was unable to fly home and while trying to get in touch with his embassy, everything went down and he was trapped on his own. He hasn't looked back since then, taking it as his fate, Andy now wonders Chernarus looking for a purpose to fill.
