Tristan Thomson was formally a Lieutenant in the British army, specialising in wilderness survival.
In 2009 He along with a select group of other specialists were secretly dispatched to Chernarus at the start of the civil war to help the group that would become the CDF, thus ensuring NATO cooperation in the region.
At the conclusion of the war these troops were slow to leave the area as the Government had requested their help in the training of special units to hunt down and capture the surviving Chedaki.
Some years passed and the soldiers remained in the country acting as advisers and to try entice the nation into joining NATO.

With the rise of the right wing nationalists within the regional government pressure was placed onto the UK to remove their troops before they we're exposed for illegally partaking in another nations civil war, this came to a conclusion when one of the CDF special force members came forward as a witness and whistleblower to the UK's involvement.
The British responded to this potential threat by ordering the remaining UK soldiers in the country to perform a Black op and assassinate this witness, placing Lieutenant Thomson at the head of the team they were sure nothing could go wrong.
On the day of the operation July 10th 2017 before the break of dawn the operation commenced and went off without a hitch, however on route to the extraction zone the whistle of a jet caught their attention just before blowing a nearby military compound sky high, realising that North was no longer an option for them thus cutting them of from the extraction zone they decided to place their bets, divide up and head south and hope to be able to get across the sea to NATO member Turkey.....
