A thoroughly British man, Sir Barnaby served his country faithfully in its civil service for many years, studying and achieving brilliance at Balliol College, Oxford, he spent many years working in the civil service until he rose to the esteemed and senior posting of permanent secretary. Upon being assigned to The Minister, Sir Barnaby expressed an undying loyalty to him, unusual for a man in his profession. To that end, when The Minister resigned some two years after Sir Barnaby met him, Sir Barnaby took it upon himself to become The Minister's protector. Alas, this choice cost him greatly, for he resigned his posting and gave up a quiet, comfortable retirement to assist The Minister, though he was a minister no longer, in his diplomatic posting to Chernarus. It was the doghouse that their lords and masters wished to send them to, The Minister had caused a great scandal upon his resignation, though it was the madhouse they ended up in once the outbreak struck.

In the present day, Sir Barnaby has no clue as to the whereabouts or safety of the Minister. It was rumoured that he had been sighted in South Zagoria, wearing his trademark satin blue bespoke tailored suit, a classic of men as sophisticated as The Minister. Gathering all of his courage and remaining sanity, Barnaby sallied forth into the waste of South Zagoria, entangling himself with the masses of barbarians, in search of his lord and master: The Minister.
