I arrived in Chernarus attached to a military unit with the U.S. Army very shortly before the complete collapse of society. As an engineer, I was a consultant who volunteered to help with military logistics and mobile buildings.

My wife and son stayed back with her parents and I assume they are gone. I carry an immense amount of guilt over leaving them behind and in the first days after the outbreak it nearly destroyed me. The thought of it still consumes my thoughts to this day. It is the driving force behind my morality and my need to help others.

I am fairly pragmatic and extremely moral. Normally I take a while to warm up to a group. Generally, I stay near the outskirts of a town and base but am friendly towards them. Typically I prefer to be a loner as opposed to being a hardcore member of any group.

I am willing to trade and work with people, but don't hook up or join a group too eagerly.

Collecting medical supplies, gathering base building and survival items are foremost on my mind as I wander around the countryside and in towns. Sharing those supplies in exchange for what I need is important, but as long as I have enough any payback would be unnecessary.

Often as I look through buildings and find a central area where there are a lot of infected, I take it upon myself to "clear" an area. Often taking down the 10-15 or 20 zombies by creating a choke point in the doorway of a building, I draw them in a few at a time. All this so other people wouldn't have to deal with them if they were in the area too.

If there is anything I am trying to accomplish it is to lead a peaceful life, to always deescalate a volatile situation, and help those struggling along the way.
