Born to a rural peasant farm in the outskirts of Hong Kong, along with his best friend Chen. The two of them eventually were required to split after work directions; as Du was required to head back to Hong Kong to help lay pipe work due to a work program propagated by Xiang. Later began to work in northern siberian camps along with North Korean labour camps as a interpreter and assistant steel mill specialist, in which he reunited with his best friend Chen. The two of them continued working alongside each other until their contracts expired and they sought work in Chernarus.
With prior backing, the two of themselves found work at one of the local steel mills until the infection hit. Du resided in a refugee camp with Chen until it was disbanded, walking their own ways through Chernarus; as well as bonding with other chinese nationalists.
