Along time before the Outbreak:

Before the outbreak Chekov was a part of secret soviet operation in a undisclosed area of South Zagoria, this was not a Combat mission or was not meant to be at the time anyway. This was a intelligence gathering operation ordered by the Russian state. The mission was to spy on NATO forces in the area of South Zagoria and keep a eye on them. Work out how and which ways they was helping the CDF weather it be with munitions and equipment or tactically and report back to the Russian goverment. The mission was started just as the UN and NATO forces started to intervene and help the Chernarussian Defense Force in there fight against the Chedaki in or around 09, 010 mark.

A year or two before the Outbreak:

Just before the outbreak happened the branch that Chekov was with was caught by NATO forces, well not all of the branch which was nearly 30 people strong settled in woodlands at an undisclosed location but a mare 3-4 Soldiers led by Chekov, who was on a tactical reconnaissance operation in the heart of Chernarus. These men were caught red handed by a special forces unit from NATO and arrested for questioning. After being held for weeks and not been able to contact the rest of the branch or back home there was a feel of despair then the news that they would be staying prisoners until further notice...

The Outbreak:

Suddenly on a early morning the prisoners, Chekov and his men could tell something was up. Irregular gun fire, explosions, dire screams. There was a real sense of panic in the prison. Not knowing what was going on the four Russian comrades knew escape was near. The next time, well if there was a next time a NATO or CDF guard came in they would make there move. But this plan didn't go nothing to plan. The next time the gate opened there was five to ten troops all bloodied up running in with some type of diseased people running after them, biting.. This is where they realized this was no attack like they had every seen. People were dropping and coming back as these "Running dead". Just as it all escalated Chekov took the chance to escape begging a soldier to release him. He actually did and that very moment he went into hand to hand combat with this CDF recruit acquiring his weapon and making a break for it leaving his comrades behind..

After the Escape and outbreak:

Chekov is now one of few actual Russians in the area as most have fled back to Russia one way or another. Chekov knew if there was still peace in Russia and they found out about him being locked away in a NATO / CDF camp he would be tortured let alone if he had abandoned his comrades he would be killed. So he stayed in Chernarus creating a small camp and steering clear of NATO and CDF forces. He only met a few people along the way and started to realise to survive in this new world he was gonna have to change his ways for the better. Make friends and allies and work out how he would keep himself alive living around the dead. so that is what he did making friends along the way but his Hatred of the NATO more than the CDF never left him. Filthy Americans he always thought when meeting one.
