Following the civil war, my character worked as a coal miner and raised his son in a modest home on a hill. He worked hard, day in and day out, to provide for his son and wife. When the virus spread to his region, his wife was among those to fall victim, leaving him as the sole keeper of his boy. They did alright for a little while before the hardships and lack of resources became too much to bare. One day, while searching for food in a nearby town, my character's son was abducted by a group of raiders that, unbeknownst to us, had been searching the town at the same time as us. Leaving my character for dead, the men and the boy ventured off never to be seen again. I am a hardworking man that is always available to lend a helping hand in exchange for mutual benefit and engagement. I am a depressive type as I have no family and am sick, dying of an unknown illness. I have little time left to live, but I have reason to believe that my long lost son is somewhere in Cherno. Recently, while out of town, my character met a woman who claimed to have met him in Cherno and last saw him somewhere up in the northwest. My goal is to reach him before my untimely demise and to apologize to him for not keeping him safe, as I had always promised him as a child. Will I ever reconnect with my son? I don't know. But I'll be damned if I fail to try. This goal, this need, is the only thing keeping Dr. Steez alive at this point in his unfortunate life. If he completes this, he can die and rest with ease. His life would not have been a waste. A Failure.
