Background: Aaron is an American freelance journalist chasing stories and hoping that by obtaining exclusive information he can make himself valuable to large publishers. He hadn't made much money, but he had made connections, so when he got a call from a Russian contact claiming that the Chernarussian bombings were a cover-up he had to chase it down. Unfortunately, his plane was grounded due to the spreading chaos and infection and he was detained due to forged travel documentation upon landing in Chernarus. However, to his surprise, most of his detainers evacuated and himself along with others who had been traveling left the airport in search of help or transportation home. He has been surviving on his own for some time now, with limited contact with the infected as he travels mostly through wilderness and only visits former population centers when absolutely necessary.
Characterization: He is a middle aged, reserved man who prefers to keep by himself. He has never married, and doesn't get along well with others in close relationships due to long-standing trust issues. He hates the idea of conflict, and would rather give in and avoid it than stand up for himself. While he tends to be alone, he feels safer in large groups where he doesn't have to worry about individual relationships. Since the zombie apocalypse, he has been running from place to place after losing everything multiple times to weather and bandits and has yet to settle down.
Aaron is typically very cagey about personal information and doesn't turn his back to anyone he doesn't trust completely, and those people are few and far between. If it comes down to it, Aaron's fight or flight response is always flight when it gives him a better chance of survival, which has kept him alive but on the move for a long time. However, when he ends up in a situation where his back is against a (metaphorical or literal) wall, he will fight fiercely to cling onto life.
