On the 21th of November, 1999, Jonathon Jory was born near Springfield, Illinois. He was the youngest of three boys, but did not have the same mother as them.
His father had left his wife after 15 years, took their sons with him, and moved in with Jon's mother in the house she inherited from her parents.
A year later, Jonathon was born.
His brothers were much older than him, and so Jon did not get along with them very well. The age difference showed in forms of mental abuse and physical bullying. Because of this, Jon chose to spend a lot of time alone, taking trips in the nearby woods and parks or just wandering the streets near their neighborhood. As he got older, he would capture small animals during his trips in the woods.
He enjoyed watching them struggle, and would regularly tie them to trees and rocks, but never hurt or killed them. If he came across a dead animal though, he could spend hours prodding them with sticks or dragging them around the woods. His father once caught him hiding a dead cat in his bedroom, and proceeded to give him the worst beating of his life.
In school, Jon only had a couple of friends, both of which he drifted apart from eventually. Jon isolated himself, only talking to teachers when required of him, avoiding his classmates, and spending most of recess and lunch breaks by the dumpsters behind the school.

Constant fighting, phsyical violence, and mental abuse ended their marriage by the time Jon 13, but the damage was done. His father and brother moved back to Mississippi, leaving his mother unable to pay the bills. So she and Jon moved to a trailer park outside of Chicago, where his life would get considerably worse. He enrolled in a new school which had a much higher tolerance for bullying. The next few years would be just miserable for Jon, and he slipped further away from a "normal" life. Friendless and depressed, he isolated himself further.
While still in high school, Jon was kicked out by his mother, as she was not only unable to support him. She handed him a bag of bologna sandwiches, and enough money for a bus ticket to visit his father. But when he got there, he was told he wasn't welcome, and to figure out something else. Jon convinced him to let him stay just one night however, and at 6AM the next morning he left with 250$ in cash and all of his fathers credit cards, which he had stolen during the night. The youngest of his two older brothers looked enough like Jon for him to steal his passport as well, so he could pass as being of legal age.
He maxed out all the cards before his dad could notice they were gone, buying several pre paid debit cards as well as a plane ticket to Denmark in brothers name.
