Jake Tinsley is a man of deep faith. Raised in the farmland of Virginia he always connected with the southern leaning of the Baptist Church. Fire and brimstone were the ways of his church and he has surmised that the global fallout was the cause of the sinful ways of mankind. He strongly believes that if he could bring everyone back to a christian way of life that god will smile down on this earth and the walking dead will be a thing of the past.
Jake does not realize or even care to acknowledge how his religious fervor comes across and quasi-psychotic. His beliefs are that the world must repent and turn to the lord... or die. That is the only way to turn this tide.
He first started his missionary trips to eastern Europe well before the fighting started in the 90s; he traveled with his family and church and immediately knew the importance of their work. Churno had always played a keen role in his life and as he grew up he followed along as the country fell into disrepair. He set in his mind that when able, he would set out and fix the country through his religion. After the conclusion of the civil way in Churno, Jake thought it prudent to spend more time in country. Be on the ground to convert the communists he thought. He would stay for weeks at a time to build rapport and to keep his christian faith alive in a country full of Russian Orthodox faithful. This persisted until he finally made the decision to make his stay permanent in 2016. He started a roving church group of evangelists, touring the country bringing people to his lord. Some of his colleagues were more radical then Jake; at first their fervor was intimidating he wondered if he could gain the clout to convert as many of these former communists into god-fearing western-minded folks. He blamed himself for the gradual further collapse of Churno, the country of which he grew fond.
The rumors that spread about a sickness threw Jake deeper into his evangelism. He and his team of bible toting friends head straight to these cities rumored to have these sick individuals. As they headed more north towards Severograd they began to hear rumors that the sick her attacking other people, even people biting people. This of course scared off some of his peers, but this did not scare Jacob. He was ignited with the holy spirit and he was ready to dive head on into his efforts.
After his roving evangelical tour dismantled he determined to find a central place, his new sanctuary.
